Wow, Verizon lets employees know 3 days in advance?? That's impressive! When I worked at AT&T they didn't tell us until 3 days AFTER!
-Droidforums.netWe were expecting an update to happen this week beginning on January 22nd but folks its arriving early! Verizon is pushing out a 61.4 MB maintenance release today ahead of schedule that should get users excited for whats soon to come. We haven't seen reports of the version / build number change, although we believe there is still something going on behind the scenes and soon, that will update to 2.0.1 ESD59.
Our sources have indicated Android 2.1 has passed all internal testing on the Droid and a target is to have all Droids updated before the end of the month. This patch had added some minor fixes and preps the phone for a smooth Android 2.1 RELEASE. To be clear, the forthcoming immediate update is not 2.1, but a precursor to smooth the transition to 2.1 which will follow within the next couple of weeks. Stay Tuned, more details to come!
If that is the plan, we should have 2.1 start rolling out next Monday 25th. The good thing is that it has cleared internal testing. I know it cleared last week and as stated things change. They used this minor update to get us ready for the late x-mas present.
Only time will tell. It seems like they want the Droid on 2.1 before the Nexus One hits.
Yup. Although Motorola and HTC were on the stage together, the competition is still there. Motorola is riding this bad boy and with 2.1 it will only get better.

Anyone know if adobe 10.1 will be bundled with the 2.1 update? If not, I was reading that you would need to de-install current flash player to get 10.1, and I have no idea how to do that.
I realize it is not on the market at this time, but according to adobe, they are ready to launch (you can see a video done on Jan. 7th. (Flash Player 10.1 public prerelease demos and interviews | Adobe Developer Connection).Flash is not ready.

Do you think this would be an update sent out by verizon, or is this a purchase type thing?
