im calling verizon support, telling them i want to buy a droid. but i want to wait till the update. see what they say.

why would he tell me everyone was getting it at the same time? and why monday? looks like i have some investigating to do....before work.lol
If you were a blackberry user (Which it seems you weren't) you would know that Verizon reps are just drones. They know nothing about software update release dates. I'm sure if you asked every rep at every store then called verizon support and asked them you would get thousands of different answers.
All information you get from Verizon reps about this type of thing is pure speculation until the BIG red of Verizon actually officially releases a date.
I also have a source (cousins husband) who works for Verizon and I texted them today and I was told next week at some point for an update.
oh yeah,4 years. lol. i know the reps are historically wrong with their answers. but i just think that with the droid,there are not as many secrets,with rim everything was always a secret. we know its coming,just dont know whats coming. if that makes any sense? lol
Someone on another forum said it would start hitting phones on the 17th. Apparently this is a VZW IT guy.
why would they start it on the 17th i mean its a sunday and around here there are no stores open on sunday. What I'm getting at is i guess what if the update crashes a phone and they need to go into the store to get something done about it and oh...well...wait there are no stores open i guess i have to go without my phone for a day?!
Stores are open on Sunday around my way.
He might have meant Sunday night, like midnight which would be Monday morning.
However I have never heard of an OTA update crashing a phone.
i'm an auth. agent in a smaller town and we had about three of the droids crash due to the OTA update mine was fine but our store demo was one of them to crash
My Verizon stores are all open on Sundays. Oh by the way.dude didn't know what he was talking about....they do have access to an update.but I think its 2.0.1. They wouldn't let me see it. Got out before they called security. LOL.
LOL. Sounds like things went sour fast.
Still hoping Jeremy takes that drive and gets that update for us.
