Thanks for all the input, it is refreshing to have such quick responses from a forum.
So, after my last post, I uninstalled the Facebook widget (?) and my heat buildup/battery drain seemed to get much better. I had the updated 1.3.1 version, which I think 'allegedly' fixed the battery drain, but I uninstalled anyway, just to see what happens. I went all day yesterday (15 hours or so, MP3, though) and was pleased. I can live without the immediate access to facebook if the phone actually works.
Apparently, I cannot live without it, as I did a power off/on this morning (old habit from my touch pro 2 days) and the Facebook app/widget reinstalled itself with no input from me. When I looked at the screen, it had just installed itself and there it was on the homescreen again. Huh?! Is this some native application, and if so, why did it let me uninstall it? It shows to be the 1.3.1 version, again, so I am baffled. Ideas? I am going to let it run today and see if the battery heat/drain is back.
Also, after backing out of a Google search or an online session originating from a Google search, I get a Vista-like 'turning circle' for about 5 second and a 'loading' message on the screen. I NEVER had that before my 2.2 upgrade (and subsequent hard reset).
I said I was going to hard reset again, but after yesterday's apparent success (w/o facebook), I didn't think it necessary. I guess it is? Help?
