2.2 working on Droid

Whats everyone set their CPU to on this new build? Anyone noticing any overheating issues?

I set up my profiles in SetCPU as follows..

100%<1200max 1100min
50%<1100max 900min
25%<900max 700min

I guess what i'm asking is simple. Is it safe to run the CPU at such high speeds?

my CPU profiles are:
Charging = 1GHz -250MHz
Sleep = 400MHz - 250MHz
<85% = 900MHz -250MHz
<74% = 800MHz -250MHz
<40% = 600MHz -250MHz
>38.2degrees = 400MHz -250MHZ
Advanced setting: Power save bias = 250

This gets me through a whole day and i never have overheating issues back on BB v1.1, but I'll have to wait a couple more days before i pass my official judgment on Froyo FRF57. But things are looking just as good.

Linpack: 15+ MFLOPS, .34 seconds
Quadrant: 1200-1300

I think you should make a few adjustments to your settings, but nothing that you should be to concerned about as long as you have a good failsafe profile.

anyone lose google maps on this 2nd leak ? i had google maps on the first one but couldn't update but no big deal. now with the 2nd leak i seemed to have lost maps all together but it wont install from market says installation unsuccessfull

Try flashing this with clockwork and see if it fixes your market issue with maps. (The files from bgill55 at droidforums) i had the same problem and it fixed mine. also try going into settings>applications>all>market and clear the cache. (Not the data).

If you are using sprecovery rename to update.zip and put on root of sd card

cory those settings arent bad but charging "1GHz - 250MHz"?? i was always told that by putting a max that high on charging can over heat your battery really fast and may do damage

Dumb question here, but I really don't know. Is there any way once I get Froyo on my phone if I can load the apps/contacts/etc. that I have on my nandroid back up to Froyo? I loaded Froyo and had the endless boot cycle and did a factory reset and got Froyo just none of my information. I loaded my back up so that I am now back on 2.1. Thanks in advance.

thanks i tried moving the maps from system/apps nothing :( i tried clearing cache nothing :( so im downloading marketfix.zip so hopefully that helps!

How do I add custom kernals to my newly installed froyo?

Overclocking your Droid with a custom Kernel
Locate the Kernel that you downloaded. And rename it update.zip (if it is already a .zip file then name it update)
Connect your Droid to your PC and copy the new update.zip file to the uppermost folder on your sd card where you put the baseband updates.
Disconnect your droid from your PC
Open ROM manager
choose ?Install ROM Ffrom SD Card.?
select update.zip
don?t create a backup or ?wipe data and cache.?
Allow the phone to reboot into recovery and install your new kernel.
The phone will Reboot the phone and BAM! All done.
When your phone wakes open SetCPU and and chose autodetect
Slide the max all the way to 1GHz
Then select Profiles:
And you can use this setup:
my CPU profiles are:
Charging = 1GHz -250MHz
Sleep = 400MHz - 250MHz
<85% = 900MHz -250MHz
<74% = 800MHz -250MHz
<40% = 600MHz -250MHz
>38.2degrees = 400MHz -250MHZ
Advanced setting: Power save bias = 250

Jake released his kernels but I don't think they are stable yet. I installed the 1.2 GHz one and got stuck in a bootloop. I guess the waiting starts again.

Ya I def agree but judging from the past, jake does not give up easily. He will have it worked out in time. I'm probably going to try birdmans rom tomorrow

yeah i was thinking of trying it tommorrow also. im liking eliiminator. plenty quick even at 800. only thing is i have to back up all my apps that i use for fly seeing he took out quite a bit

Download Titanium Backup and pay for it- trust me it's worth it. Now, backup your apps and data and after you've installed FroYo with a wipe, redownload titanium from the market and restore everything. For me, all of my apps automatically redownloaded so all I had to do was restore the data. THe paid version though will makes things much easier becuase you won't have to approve each app as it's installed. If you have any questions, hit me on gtalk- sethjk

Benchmark App

did a test and my droid owns all

What app are you using to benchmark and get that image?

its called quadrant standard. it's free in the market. i would check it out. if you are overclocked you can smoke the current N1's haha

I am OC'd to 1.1 and I am only scoring around 1300. But thats just on this second release using P3's kernels. The first froyo release ran at much higher numbers for me. I can't seem to break 16 on linpack no matter what build tho. I haven't tried BB yet but might but in all honesty froyo has been running so smooth that I don't even feel like I need a speedy rom lol.

Edit: also I wanna say the second froyo release, when it first boots will crawwwwwwwlllll till I can get into setCPU. I know the first time you boot its gotta sync in everything so thats fine but I'm talking EVERY boot crawls. I have it set on boot now so it's fine but the first froyo release also didn't do that. I might re-load the original.
