2.2 working on Droid

Hey guys, I've tried installing 2.2 using Clockworkmod Recovery a few times, and I keep getting the same error message when trying to flash:

"No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblkOp2
(No such file or directory)
Can't mount /sd-ext/!"

I flashed a number of ROMs and have never run into this message. Anyone know the fix?

Hmmm, I try that and it just gets stuck in the boot cycle. I'll give it one more shot and call it a night :)

It finally worked! It was stuck on the DROID-eye boot animation for like 5 minutes, but it worked.

yeah first boot for me took forever but now its fast, according to the tests its fastest rom i have ever run.

Yeah, ran this for about 30 minutes, went back to Bugless Beast. I'm really glad this isn't the final product. Sure, somethings are faster, but what about the basics, you know like flipping through home screens the Beast with LaucherPro is faster that 2.2 stock.

After working for a few hours on it last night I've decided to go back to Cyanogen- Too many problems at this point-really need to be able to use home and search buttons

im having very few problems with 2.2 that i can see. the only thing that im having a problem with is i cant auto sync my google voice account. Everything was going super slow in the beginning, but after a few hours, its going faster then anything i ever used. all four buttons on the bottom work just fine for me.

i dont think im going back to 2.1 haha. this thing is amazingly smooth and works almost flawlessly. the keyword is "almost" because i cant get google maps to install for whatever reason. im going to do some research and try to figure out why. anybody else experiencing this?

im really looking forward to jakes new kernels. my temps are currently on average 36-38 C but from using Jakes kernels in the past, i have a feeling i get them back down to the low 30's

I love 2.2 no problems for me yet but I as well cannot install the maps update says manual install required but that's only prob I've had so much smoother and faster than anything else

Google Maps installed for me. Did you try canceling the download and manually downloading it again? That worked for me.

And yeah, 2.2 is awesome. I switched from CM 5.0.7.1 and ain't going back. 2.2 is here to stay.

And flash is awesome. I just went to xat.com and was able to chat through my phone. It was quick and smooth. Amazing.

ya i tried it a few times but still didn't do anything. ill prob try to reboot into recovery and wipe cache and try it again. one thing though which i don't get why is that my numbers in quaderant are only around 1300. dont get me wrong, im happy they are that high but im wondering why they aren't as high as some other's

maps wont update for me either. canceled download and tried manually and nothing. but i had google maps 4.2 backed up on titanium, so i have the latest version anyways.

Maps is already installed with the release. It's the same version number as the update in the market. I couldn't do the upgrade either. Hopefully the next map updates will install.

If you want the market to recognize maps uninstall or delete the app then reinstall
Edit scratch that still won't install

Set CPU

with 2.2 setCPU will natively not recognize root access. so you have to go to your SetCPU app atuo-detect then allow root access. It will fail. then go to the superuser app in the drawer and manually give root access to the setcpu.apk

Thank you so much for this insight Cory! It was driving me crazy. That was my problem. I was like how can I be using everything else (Barnicle, ROM Mgr, etc) and Set CPU wasn't recognizing my root.

Feelin the love. Can't wait to see what the ROM masters can do with this version of the code.
