2.2 working on Droid

Thank you so much for this insight Cory! It was driving me crazy. That was my problem. I was like how can I be using everything else (Barnicle, ROM Mgr, etc) and Set CPU wasn't recognizing my root.

Feelin the love. Can't wait to see what the ROM masters can do with this version of the code.

I never had that problem, but I used ClockWork Recovery.......Seems like there is alot less problems when this is used.

I had also used CWR. Probably depends on the exact steps (if you wipe cache/data), and when you reinstall superuser rights, etc. SetCPU still acts a little strange even after all that. When I reboot the Widget goes back to showing max of 600 MHZ even though the tool itself shows 1200. No biggie I guess. It just hasn't been updated to Froyo which is understandable.

waiting for bb/cyano or another custom rom using this froyo code would be sweet. especially if bb can improve on froyo like it did over 2.1 wouldn't know what to do with a droid that fast

IMO I don't see the need for the custom ROM's that try and speed everything up.
Froyo is perfect. I'm running at 600MHz and it feels like I'm running 1.2GHz
The only thing for ROM's now, is to customize
Just waiting on that ;)

I'm content for now but I really wouldn't mind seeing a BB version of Froyo. Pete's BB ROMs are the best IMO.

So how has tried the newest baseband? Its over at df. May give it a shot tomorrow but will most likely have to sbf my phone back to 2.1 the next day so not much worth in it.

Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

ill check it out, if it looks beneficial ill give it a shot. im still waiting for Jake's kernels. what is taking him so long doesnt he know we are all waiting haha

i got a question...is the usb tethering free or does that cost money? and does anyone know if we are going to get wireless tethering in future builds?

The built-in usb tethering in this build is free and works just as well as apps like pdanet. You can get wireless tethering with barnacle or the Wireless Tether for Root users app. Both work fine with 2.2.

Last I heard Jake's kernels were in the testing phases. Oh yeah I got hulu to work last night it was pretty easy.

I installed the new baseband and so far no problems but ill keep you all updated.

I downloaded the baseband earlier. Seems to have increased data speeds quite a bit.

Well guess ill try it tomorrow don't feel like going through the hassle if reactivateing today. When I get another Droid tomorrow guess ill root that bad boy prior to activating it

has anybody else noticed the lag for a few a minute or 2 after you boot up your phone. i work in a building where your phones need to be off otherwise it may interphere with phone calls so i will turn my phone off once in a while if i am near that area. when i booted up today it took like a minute to load fully and have running smooth.

bizz, i saw your post on all droid earlier and i hope you are right and boost and jake release their version of the froyo leak. but i am so much more interested in jake's kernel then boosts rom.

I had it running earlier today. Was about the same as the original leak. Went back to the first release after awhile because his version didn't have the android soft keyboard.

he is releasing an updated version soon (crossing my fingers for tonight) that will be improved plus from the way it looks, it will have jakes kernel with it. From my experience his kernels run the best on my phone (i know i say that a lot but it is so true haha. bizz can vouch for me on that one). i havent tried his current release due to many people like yourself saying that it didn't add too much to it. if i can run my device at a higher overclock consistently without the temps going over 37 C then i will be extremely happy.

That was to easy it was posted over at all Droid and you simply install it like any other app. And personally I'm interested in both. I know he was working on getting boot times down and he added the smoked glass theme to his rom. Though my big thing now is kernel this 1.2 is killing my battery no matter the setting
Edit
And I tried birdmans .3 that killed my cellular data. As far as speed their all roughly the same
