5.0.1 for Nexus 6?

I understood the att does not have bloat. Locked, stupid logo...yes but no carrier apps.
I have the unlocked Motorola version w an att sim and no bloat downloaded on set up.

Even my att store demo had no bloat and the sales rep who is into android like we are in this forum confirmed no carrier stuff is downloading.

If anyone does see some carrier apps on a store demo unit it is because that particular store has decided to do that for customer presentation.

I have the unlocked from google play and on ATT. After I set it up, I had the my ATT app and another ATT app for a total of two on my N6. I was able to delete them though.

Same. Easy to delete, but I'm still annoyed that they were installed in the first place, especially since my device was from motorola and not att.

So, who actually controls the update? I bought my phone from T-Mobile, I have an AT&T SIM.

Where will my update come from?

Google. Or at least it has always been in the past but who knows with the carriers involved. Still have not received mine on ATT. Still not convinced it is that big of a update.

I bought a Nexus 6 right from Motorola and used a Verizon SIM. It works great, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll get the 5.0.1 OTA since Verizon isn't selling the Nexus 6 yet. Do I need to sideload the OTA or just wait a few days? This is my first Nexus device since I'm stuck using Verizon.

TIA!

I received it last week also. I clicked install, and it disappeared. It has never come back.

Lets say I don't want to wait for the OTA update to automatically happen. Do I need to unlock my bootloader (and lose all my data) in order to sidelod the OTA? The instructions I'm reading don't seem to make it seem like unlocking is a requirement. On my Macbook I can do a adb devices and get back the serial number, but after rebooting to the bootloader, entering recovery mode and selecting apply update from adb, my adb sideload command returns an error that no device was found and adb devices doesn't return anything. I don't know if this is because my bootloader is locked or because I've screwed something else up.

Any insight would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Nevermind, the answer is no, I don't need to unlock my bootloader. I just need to repeat the update process a few times in a row and eventually it just works. No idea if I was doing something wrong earlier.

Correct, sideloading via ADB doesn't require being unlocked. Installing a factory image is what does require it. Many fastboot commands can be done without ever unlocking.

I want to sideload this 5.0.1 OTA. I am using a Mac. When my phone is on adb detects my phone no problem. When my phone is in recovery mode adb doesn't detect my phone. Any reason why and any suggestions to fix this? I think this is the reason why I am unable to sideload this OTA.

You may have to just unplug replug the phone into the comp. That happened with mine, but on Windows 7 and it immediately started after I did that.

I tried to update with Wugfresh last night. It seemed to complete but I still had 5.0 afterwards. Then I freaked out because my display was faded out. Took me an hour to realize Twilight got activated somehow.

Still doesn't work. Any other suggestions? I am using the USB cable that came with the phone.

I know I had to do something with device manager on my PC, I don't know how to access that on a Mac. I think it needed additional drivers.

Yesterday has come and gone and still no OTA update to 5.0.1. Makes me wonder if attempting to update when it first arrived on my device shows it as being updated on Googles end. Even if my device says its still on 5.0.

Well I finally got this OTA installed now. I killed the adb server then installed from adb. I'm good.
