I'm not seeing a 911 in the emergency dialer and I don't have any "ICE" contacts...the only way I can do it is manually dial it. Are you guys putting 911 in the "ICE" contacts?
Use kids mode?

I've never pocket dialed anyone.. Not sure how people's phones are waking up and then hitting the buttons. Maybe just the style of pants?.. But iPhone.. Android.. Doesn't matter. I've never been able to Pocket dial.
Are you guys putting the phone in your pocket unlocked?

It is a known issue with the Galaxy S5... You keep commenting on having never done it, but you have a Note 3? That makes no sense. Do you have an S5?
I'm using the s5 active on cricket instead of AT&T. I went to software update and it said there were no software updates available. Since AT&T owns cricket is there anything I can do to get updated to 4.4.4?

Phones are not toddler toys.

Not familiar with Odin but just googled it and see its for rooting Samsung devices. Are the 4.4.4 roms all heavily customized? I'd prefer to stay close to stock samsung. And will this erase all my data? You can update via odin

Thanks for the tip. I installed the LG lock screen and it seems fine for now. Maybe later I'll look into rooting but for now this should workThere are a few lock screen apps which function like stock but remove the emergency call option. Like lg lock screen.
Sure phones are not toys, but some of you do not understand that there are times when your toddler needs to be kept busy somehow in certain situations or settings.
My wife and I both got the Galaxy S5 Active. So far so good, specially when you have children at home.
One of the problems we've had since switching is how easy is to dial 911 from the lock screen. Case in point, so far our 3 year old has called more than 5 times by accident just by pressing what he sees on the screen, not knowing what he's doing.
Called AT&T and they're saying they can't block 911 by law, which I understand. What concerns me is how EASY Samsung has made it for anyone to dial 911 via the ICE Address book. It's a special contact that is hidden in the Address Book and shows only there. I reached out to Samsung Support via twitter, and their response was not too promising. I've attached a screenshot of a proposed idea, but shot down. I wish they could take this more seriously.
Calling 911 is no joke and while hiding the phone from toddlers is an option, it can happen again.
