Hey Cory open your browser and type in about:debug in the address box hit menu more settings scroll to The bottom and you will see uastrings set that to desktop and you wont get those pesky mobile sites anymore

I think I will stay with DL30 for now as I the only real difference I see between the two is the bloatware is added and Bing is back.

I wish someone would give me a compelling argument to switch because I love having the latest and greatest.

There isn't a setting that allows you to choose which calendar is used by default when you create new appointments. If I'm not mistaken, that's what you asking? That said, I have 2 calendars setup: Gmail, and corporate. When I create a new event, it is using Gmail by default.

I think I will stay with DL30 for now as I the only real difference I see between the two is the bloatware is added and Bing is back.

I wish someone would give me a compelling argument to switch because I love having the latest and greatest.

You can use ClockworldMod to flash EB01 right over DL30. I didn't wipe or anything and it all turned out fine. When you're finished, you will still have root, and you can cut/paste the bloat over to your SD. That's what I did, and you will have a more stable version, and I'm pretty sure better battery life.

And I was so pissed at myself for not showing off the screen capture app, but I added an annotation in the video about it. Also, the new select text, cursor placement, word lookup integration is the bomb. I wish I'd spent some time on that too.

When you're finished, you will still have root, and you can cut/paste the bloat over to your SD. That's what I did, and you will have a more stable version, and I'm pretty sure better battery life.

I thought EB01 came pre-rooted? Better battery life would be awesome! I am trying JuiceDefender and hoping that will help too.

I'm almost certain the build that Adrynalyne posted is pre rooted. Honestly, I would skip OTA upgrades, and just flash his stuff. You could delete bloatware, but I would just move it to SD for safe keeping. Speaking of Adrynalyne, his superclean ROM's remove all the bloat, so you could flash those too. Everything he does is in the ROMs/hacks sub forums. DroidxCon has also gotten in on the action.

I tried SC 1.0 but decided he replaced too many of the stock programs (like media player) and debloated it too much for my liking. I am just looking for a psudeo stock build, no bloat, and google as the default search.

I just read that DxC is going to possibly have a release later today and I can't wait to try that one!

You could wait until sonofskywalker 3 releases a blackhole rom based on this. I like blackhole because you can pick and choose what to add to it, so you get what you want and none of what you don't.

Cory, does this mean that you didn't go through the Odin process that Adrynalyne or DroidXcon used in their threads? Did you just reboot into CW recovery and apply a zip file? Would that replace modem and the kernel/ROM? If so, then can you give a link to the file you applied? Or am I thinking of this wrong? I'm already rooted and running the newer CW that I got when I applied DL30.

I flashed the radio, then installed the new recovery file, then updated update.zip then did the EB01 update. After I was all done I moved all the bloatware to my SD card. Honestly the whole thing took me under 10 minutes and I do not see any difference in my phone (except is not says the baseband version and the build number are both EB01).

I did not wipe or clear cache first.

I did have to update my camera firmware one I went to use the camera (option 3 in the menu).

So far so good...

What about this ridiculous bug? In a car cradle, you can only use the dialer in portrait mode (unless I am missing some setting). Seems kind of a goofy thing to sell an accessory that doesn't exactly render the device usable...did this get fixed in FroYo?

Could someone with EB01 check a couple of things for me? I have DL30.

1) On DL30, if I open email and look at the folders, all I have are trash folders. No inbox, outbox, etc. And once looking at them, the email client acts goofy until I do a reset.

2) The camera offers no way to disable geotagging. Not a big deal, as I normally WANT geotagging. But I can see when there may be a time that I prefer it be turned off.


I would hate doing a reset and reinstall to get EB01 and have those same issues.

Yes we can... and with EB01! Hold the "back" key and and press the power button.
