I saw somewhere that Google now is a big battery drainer, so after the charge I'm on ends I'll clear cache and disable Google and see how it goes.

Does anyone else have Instagram listed with the highest usage percentage? I'm currently at 58% battery left and Instagram is at 7%,
Android OS 6%
Facebook 4%
Screen 4% STO 58m 45s
Yahoo Weather 2%
Kik 2%

I always find it weird that Instagram is always at the top of the list???

Mine does that also at times. I wish I could disable it but I like having it for every now and again.

I just gotta say....even when I had iphones (4S, 5 and 5S), there would be these exact type discussions in various forums. Users were always adjusting their settings to try to maximize their screen on time. This is not new nor is it unique to Samsung devices let alone the S6. People want the latest and greatest technology stuffed into the thinnest package yet want battery life to be limitless; and well that's just not the way things work.

Yeah but at least iPhone is consistent from day to day usage. I love the battery on my s6 when it wants to be cooperative. On those days its REALLY impressive. But then the next day it will go to only giving me four hours of screen on time even though I am doing the exact same thing on my phone wit the exact same settings. It's weird. If it always stuck with giving me this kind of battery life I would be more impressed than I am but it's so inconsistent and I don't understand why

I hear ya. That would be an issue if it were happening to me but mine is pretty consistent from day to day. Needless to say, Samsung could have put in a slightly larger battery so users could squeeze out another hour or so.

Anyone try battery doctor? To solves any major problems?

Battery "management" apps do work and if you have them, that's great. Haven't used them in years. IMO they just take up space.

Greenify seems to be helping with my battery drain in standby. Usually I lose 20% when I go to sleep. I set the apps to hibernate and woke up having only lost about 5-10%

Awesome that it is working for you.

The battery issues were my only problem with this phone. I'm finding I'm using my six plus less and less lol.

This is my current battery at 56%

About the inconsistencies... But are you always in the same places when you get poor results?

My point is, if 5 days a week you are getting great battery life, but then you do something on your day off like travel someplace in a different direction them normal, is it then that battery life fails you? (just trying to get a better understanding of why most of the time you are getting great battery life, then all of a sudden poor)

Or could it be because of the screen brightness that you use differently on a rare day?

In answer to both of those questions. I am disabled and live on a pension so I am at the same place at home pretty much 24/7.

In regards to brightness I always have autobrightness turned off and on the lowest setting.

That's why it's so confusing to me because I literally can't figure out why it is doing it

Wow, that's crazy then. That never happens to me. Mine only fluctuate if I change my brightness as compared to normal. Or use too much on auto brightness than normal.

I'm on disability myself, but I work a part time job since I'm allowed, but can't do much but a desk job due to a helicopter crash. In fact I sometimes even work from home. I used to be a photographer. I don't have to work, but I'd go nuts if I stayed home full-time. Plus my wife would kill me so...

I know exactly what you mean. I would go crazy too if it wasn't for the fact that I was helping my best friend in her modelling career. I never wanted to go on disability. I was stubborn but when I got diagnosed with my 8th and 9th medical conditions I knew I no longer had a choice.

But in regards to the battery life yeah now you know why I'm so confused lol

Ok, this is something I don't normally recommend, or at least leave it as a last resource.

I've read in other forums and it makes some sense, so in cases like yours it seems you don't lose anything by trying.

Go to Application Manager and in the All tab look for the Ant+ apps, disable all of them you can disable, then I'd turn the phone off and do a wipe cache partition in Recovery mode and full charge it and see how it behaves after that.

If you are asking yourself whats Ant+? The short answer is, it's a radio, for more information do a Google search.

Like I said above, you don't lose anything by trying this, let us know how it goes.

Hi
I read all the comments and disabled all the stuff mentioned here and my SOT is max. 4h with 3g always on.I want to clear cache from recovery but I don't know when to do that..I mean, after the battery is drained, like 10% or after is fully charged? If someone take a look of my screen shots and tell me if are ok these values.
