Already Bored...

Bored? Still trying to fill 2 homescreens while messing about with adw, launcher pro, go launcher and a ton of widgets. Customizing settings and tweaking, I'm anything but bored. But It's a phone, what else do you want it to do? Coming from webos, I don't see myself being bored anytime soon.

I have found that I have had much better battery life with this phone than with my EVO 4G. And yes, I use it... constantly. Haha, I browse the web on this thing more than I do my netbook. I guess it is because I always have it with me, and of course I can't do personal stuff on our pc at work.
I had a 4G too and definitely can say after a week of use Im not getting better battery life...most likely the same.

If I came from WebOS I wouldnt be bored yet either :) I came from the EVO 4G...so part of the boredom is coming from a very similar device.

I am still within my exchange period and am also considering changing, but am struggling with a decision in this regard (like the power and Sense UI of the Evo, but like free wireless tethering, better battery life, and faster updates of the Nexus, not to mention that NFC tech is intriguing) - may I ask why you changed?

I switched because I could not get over the fact that the Nexus S is a 6 month old phone. It was hard for me to give it up, for the reasons you just stated...but I could not resist the latest and greatest hardware on the 3D.

With my nexus I had issues with the radios like most ppl, my 4G was dead slow compared to the EVO, and my browser performance and game performance on the nexus did not compare to the 3D. And you can only tether the 3G connection, not 4G yet for some reason.

But the 3D is not bad when it comes to battery life in my opinion, and I feel like ppl will agree. Plus, once root is achieved, I will also have free wireless tethering, faster updated, and even better battery life.

Same here. I had a nexus one and going from N1->NS was BARELY an upgrade. And considering I had 500MB storage + 16GB SD card, I'd actually be losing 500MB by going to the 16GB only Nexus S. If they had released a 32GB NS I might have considered it.

I also don't like the feel of the NS, it really feels cheap. Felt a lot cheaper than my N1, and it felt a lot cheaper than my eventual 3D.

@OP If you're bored with this phone, you're bored with Android.

All this does is give you a better Android experience. Download apps. Keep yourself busy.

No phone is anything without a good OS. Because you'd be even MORE bored with another phone. What special magic does the Galaxy SII do that will keep you busy and not bored?????????

I agree... With a post like that it almost makes one wonder if its trolling.. Thats why I said I think they do it just to get attention..

I don't believe the OP was trolling because he has contributed to other discussions in a positive way ... But I do believe that many posters do post just for attention ... I would NEVER return lets say an iPhone for an E3D and then go to an iPhone forum just to start a thread about it ... Then again I would NEVER start a thread needing anyone's opinion on why I shouldn't return ANY phone ... Normally just ignore the post and let it die of starvation (as I am currently feeding it ... LMMFAO) ;)

Evo 3D has a great Android experience. You'll be bored with any other 2.3.3 device too.

Android is just an OS - unless you're an OS-tweaking hobbyist like the guys over at XDA, then you might just need some new content to use on your phone - maybe download some new books and read them with Aldiko, or some comics and read them with Perfect Viewer, or throw some movies on there, or find some new music, or listen to FM radio, or get MyFitnessPal and start tracking your diet and lose some weight :p

Isn't part of the excitement of the phone, the apps you can put on it? What do you want the phone to do?
I agree that the battery life is not much better than the 4G and that I too would prefer a better camera to 3D.
Hell, I doubt I will watch the whole green Hornet movie. The 3D, I got tired of that the first day.
The details and better intergration is what I like about the 3D. Plus it cost me $49 out of pocket, taxes not included. No big deal.

It has been almost 3 weeks now and I am constantly doing something on this device. Love it. Dont think I will ever get bored with it.

EVO - LUTION 3D

A year of EVO 4G I never became bored due to custom roms galore.
I expect same outcome with 3D.
Its a great device major upgrade coming from 4G I'm very happy with investment.

And you think the Galaxy II is going to be more exciting? Touchwhiz 4 excites you?

Going back to 800 x 480 will make you happier? Hey, at least you will have some seriously black blacks, and oversaturated cartoon colors.

Just saying...not sure what it is about the Galaxy S2 that will make you less bored with any phone?

the gs2 will blow away any current phone out there on any carrier.

Blow it away how? My 3d responds as soon as I give it a command... I am sorry but in practical use the SII will not blow this phone away. Benchmarks seem to test what we can't see and I am getting tired of hearing how the S2 dominates every phone. I saw videos of the S2 against the Sensation and it no where near blew It away. Everyone says the 3D is more responsive and faster than the Sensation so what in your mind makes you think the(yet to be released in the US) S2 is going to "blow away" the 3d?

Have you seen all the side by side comparisons where the GS2 beats the Evo 3d by.....uhm...half a second? Maybe one second! Oh yeah...that's worth giving up the higher screen resolution and much nicer UI. The Exynos chip is also not very texture friendly in regards to a lot of games out there due to the use of the Mali 400 GPU. And who knows, maybe the American carrier verson of the GS2 will get the Tegra2?

And you definitely can't compare the screen quality in the Videos you see of the Evo 3d to the real thing, the difference between a video of the screen and seeing the real thing is like night and day. I also never had a problem with the viewing angles people seem to complain about. I usually look at my phone directly, not at a 45 degree angle.

I'm sorry fellas I know everyone wants to defend their new device but the Galaxy S2 is the snappiest and more responsive android phone to date. Add to that better camera, video and speaker. The Evo 3d is a cool phone don't get me wrong, but no just no. Oh yeah about 12 gameloft titles and Chainfire 3d says that it's no problem playing high quality Tegra 3d games without even a second thought.

Ok, and? The s3 is coming soon and the EVO whatever next year not to mention the next nexus. Also a ton of other phones. Buy a phone and be happy with it as long as it doesn't suck, this pissing match is why I avoid threads like these.

Getting sick and tired of hearing how the S2 will be the last cell phone you will ever need... sometimes it is hard to hold back the frustration. But just saying "this (insert device) will "blow away " (insert device here) without merit is childish.

+1 I agree!!!! I don't understand why someone would even want to invest in a Samsung phone. Their build quality is horrible and they never get updates out. Other than the camera what does the Samsung GS2 have that the Evo 3D doesn't have or the Sensation?
