Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI22 latest build WITH IMAGE

Nice to finally hear something about 2.3.4
Well Gingerbread v2.3.4 is the final/most current version of Gingerbread which devices like the Nexus S are running. Yes its great to hear about it, I'm surprised were seeing something about it considering we haven't even received an official release of Gingerbread v2.3.3 which many devices (even new releases) are getting.

Hey if they completely skip v2.3.3, and go straight to v2.3.4 for official release on the Epic 4g, you will not see me complaining.. :) :p :)

I'm thinking if they go to 2.3.4, this means gtalk will be useable? I'll finally be able to use this phone for what I originally bought it for?

I do have to say though, you know who really loves my phone? My brother with his iphone4 and his facetime when he uses my wifi, the bugger!

:p

hey! maybe while they are at it maybe they can preroot, deodrx, zipalign, and convert to ext4 and install the latest cwm for us so that we dont have to :)

The EF02 outscore the Nexus 1 on Quadrant with the rfs file system... I would be interested in what EXT4 would bring us. I found a bug with it when it comes to MMS messaging, so it still isn't ready for prime time, but its close. Maybe a month or so more of waiting.

Yeah. EF02 is close to flawless. Huge step from EE03. The improved memory management finally shows, and the GPU is performing spectacularly on Smartbench 2011, and just regular rendering in general. I for one think that Samsung is doing great. I think they feel obligated to prove a point with the Galaxy S series, so they can counteract any perceptions that people may have about them leaving older phones in the dust. They clearly do not want to be known as the manufacturer that never updates. The most bitter users have gone on so much about the Galaxy updates, that people who don't even own an Android, insist that the folks at HTC are "update-jizzing Gods" or something..
I'm convinced that some will never let this go...and if they don't, they will end up gathering in front of Samsung's US Headquarters, lighting themselves on fire, just to protest the Froyo updates. I can see it now...I'll probably end up reading about it with some news app....which will be running on my Epic with an official Gingerbread update. :)
Wow, sorry- this post went in a strange direction...Guess I took one too many of my Dexedrine today.:eek:O:-)

Hahaha too funny.
After reading the post that phil had put up regarding the issues with gps on the galaxy s phones I understood why the froyo update took so long. Now I am really excited to see that we will be getting 2.3.4!!! Tho once the photon comes out I am so getting that I still am eager for some gb on my epic.

Does anyone know who has found a way to put the latest build on know if the BlueTooth issues are improved and if the dialer has the ability to pull up the typewriter again to search for a name while on the dialpad pre-Froyo??? I could go on but I'm only one step away from getting a different phone. I love the layout but the ringer getting too low to hear after the update and the BlueTooth issues have really blown me away. The screen occasionally freezes or pops from speaker to BlueTooth and back and forth uncontrollably while I'm talking but I could just have a bad phone. It goes away so I'm not sure.

Thanks..

G..

I thought Smartbench 2010 was the one we were supposed to use not 2011 which is for dual core systems?

So if this build works out, when will we get it? Isn't it usually two weeks of testing?

Hard to say Ted.. Nobody is certain if we are going to be getting a build based on Gingerbread v2.3.3 (EF02,EE03, etc..) or a build based on Gingerbread v.2.3.4

Some have speculated we will get GB v2.3.3 and shortly afterwards receive an update to final v2.3.4

Have to wait and see :p

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EF16 latest build

So...the GB talk has been very quiet as of late. Anyone got some good news? Bad news? Just give us something.

If I could get better battery life and bluetooth that is more robust, I'd be happy with a Froyo update!

See post #133

It should be coming soon enough.. I'm being very patient seeing how Samsung/Sprint are running so many test builds it shows they are really trying to get us a really good RC (release candidate).

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EF16 latest build

Paul -
I installed EF02 with the AnonymousROM the other day. It was great. Except even with the multiple GPS fixes it still is 3 blocks away. Reading ePUB's would hang the system. And now it removed all my Gmail accounts. I liked what it offered, but I need to go back to something I trust. Having used TER1.5 since the early days, I feel I can trust ACE 2.0.
But can I stay on EF02 or do I need to use the EC05 (or whatever it is)? I do want to say that I did intend to first install ACE 2.0, but when I saw this new fancy EF02 thing...I was excited. Anything in particular I should be aware of if I attempt to use ACE 2.0 with the EF02 base? Should I be OK with using Titanium and just restoring all my apps? Since I'm mostly hosed anyway, should I just try it and then report back if it works or are they just so different that it most llikely will brick my phone?

EDIT - When I did download ACE2.0 with Journaling (what's that again?) I wasn't able to install it because it wasn't recognized with my CWM. Is that because it wasn't named something short in the zip file (it's a long name.zip)?
