Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI22 latest build WITH IMAGE

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

No doubt! I don't want credit for calling out the modem issue. I'm affected by it, so I bring it up. I think he was referring to the fact I called a new leak by end of the weekend, and not who called out the modem issue weeks ago.
Either way, its because I follow samfirmware closely, is how I know things somewhat quickly. I just like sharing the newswith everybody who might not have known.
Its all good ratsttam, I've been bored as you can tell by the lack of anything new... Just trying to pull some life back into this area...

Keep throwing out those updates, you won't hear me complaining...

Anything??????

any word on gingerbread???? I heard June 24th but nothing yet! Guess Samsung still hasn't learned their lesson....then again why would i even think they would...

Re: Anything??????

Until they stop throwing out test builds I wouldn't get too excited about official release yet.

I will say I'm running the latest leaked EG22 and its VERY stable. I haven't had any issues as of yet other than the rotation lag and keyboard lag fix but that will be fixed by the devs once official is out if Sammy doesn't.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

I've been running EG22 all day now and no major problems to speak of. I do find the "still" camera is still a bit laggy though.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

They made Netflix for FROYO *official* now, so there really isn't a need to update anymore... especially if all the lags aren't fixed and issues are still popping up due to these being unofficial leaked releases of test builds.

Download Netflix from the market and enjoy. It just doesn't rotate like some of "SprintUSA's" builds. Running it on EC05.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

Now the big question is this:

Is EG22 still affected by the modem bug like all the other GB leaks we've seen so far?
And since I won't be installing it until I know that ONE thing is stabalized, is there any other goodies added to 2.3.4 (maybe TW4?) or updated apps or functionality (native video chat in Talk?).

So far this build is really really stable... Haven't had any modem crashes in the 24 or so hrs I've been running it.

I think they are close on this build . Gonna have to wait and see I guess...

How do you know when your modem crashes?

This is exciting; I look forward to using the Google Talk among other updates :)

Phone resets, completely shuts down, or worse case, resets and comes back up with the slash/circle. About phone will show baseband as "unknown" along with hardware version. It's like the modem completely disappears from the phone. It seems to only happen if you are in an area where it will bounce from sprint/roaming/no service. Locking it to roaming will keep it from crashing all together, locking it to "home only" will help if you don't fully lose service.

Are phone calls working OK with the EG22 modem? When I was running EF02 I had lots of problems with poor quality and dropped calls that sent me back to Bonsai.

This seems like a great build Ed. I've been on it now for a little over a day and no FC's, no modem crashes, everything seems to be really good. I've been working all night on porting the AOSP lockscreen mod and other things and its been a real slow process, Sammy did some smali code changes and other things since EF02. You can see they did a lot of work on things and its obviously been for the better.

I was in IRC Chat this morning with many of the big names and when I brought up the question of how the leak has been treating everyone? Everyone is coming back with the same response.. " Very good" "No problems".

So with that said I think we could be looking at the final build, I know this has been said before but normally within the first few hours with all the people running it any major bugs would be discovered. This time around it seems to be bug free...

Only things that have been noticed is still a bit of keyboard lag but not near as much as EF02 and some rotation lag which both of these can be fixed in custom ROMs and might even be addressed in the official release, but these are by no means "big issues".

Lets hope this is the one :-X

Thanks Paul...that's what I was hoping to hear! As much as I like the latest froyo Bonsai build I am always looking for something new to try.

I have seen a few comments about poor wifi performance at XDA but nothing consistent so I assume it may be a bad flash causing the problem.

I am on it as soon as I get home toinight.

Yes wifi signal in general seems to be an issue with all the GB leaks so far. I think they are going to have to address that still but it maybe in the form of an OTA update after official release.

makes me wish I was brave enough to root.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EG22 latest build

I don't know the difference or how to do that. I'm not an idiot but am always confused by the instructions?
