Android System - Battery issues!

Cellular uses a lot of power anyways, and on any phone putting it in airplane mode will be a big difference in battery life. That isn't the issue.

Perhaps, but i've never experienced this kind of battery drain while on cellular with an iOS device. It just seems more than coincidental that it's draining this much with the cell signal on. I understand some drain, sure, but this much seems really strange.

Anyway, I've installed GSAM so hopefully that will shed some light on this if I can figure out how to interpret what it's showing me lolz.

Android devices inheritly drain much faster than iOS especially with weak cell signals. I've had both for years and it's just how they work. But lately especially at&t note 10s the drain is bad with Android system and it's not normal. Probably a bug honestly.

I'm sure it's a bug, too. It's just frustrating because for days it was fine, then literally out of nowhere...BAM. I wonder what/where the bug could be

I really hate worrying about my battery during the day. It's not something I care to fuss about while I'm out and about. Grumble grumble.

how about getting something like this, not necessarily this one, for just until this issue gets resolved. it's an inconvenience for sure, but something like this might alleviate your worry. you have it with you, it's charged and ready to provide power if you need it. then you can relax. I keep one for times my power goes out.

I am seeing alot of similar posts on Note9 and S10 forums with the same Android System drain issue. Seems like every one of those the common denominator is ATT. One test people are doing is taking out sim and trying just on Wifi. People are reporting a much better Android System drain. the theory is there is some service ATT is waking and transferring data on ...on a high frequency poll rate.

Not sure what to think about this...but obviously there is a prob with ATT update or some service. Starting to regret sending back my unlocked version. Sure I have VoLTE and HDVoice...but battery is much worse. #frustrated

My girlfriends note 9 on ATT has been doing the same thing . Android system is always the highest percent of battery used .

I've seen many S10 forum posts as well. Curious timing, too, as well as the common denominator being ATT.

Anyone know how to read the different screens and readouts from GSAM if i post them for reference?

I have always had Android system show up on all my phones. It does it's usual operating system thing and never has bothered me. FWIW yesterday I ran a full day test without any charging and the battery lasted me all day before I went to bed. Used the phone normally like I do. It's in line with what I expected in terms of battery life. Mine is the unlocked model on Verizon.

The last few days, my Android System has been at over 30%, with just under 4 hrs SoT by the end of the day with very little juice left. Normally, my Android System never goes above 10 or 11%. Who knows

This is related to an issue that just started happening. I've owned every S and N series phone and can tell you it never use to happen like this.

And I can tell you for MY PHONES, it has been at the top more often than not.

I get that there might be something going on that is different with the current issue many are experiencing, but I was sharing that android system has been an issue for me for all of my Samsung phones.

But please, feel free to tell me more about my own experiences.
