Any EB13 Users get the OTA update to EC05? Post here!

EB13 via update.zip on samsung's site (before it was yanked).... Had it rooted, then unrooted prior to starting the EC05 update.

Just got the EC05 notification and rebooted, phone is hanging out on the SAMSUNG boot screen. Guess we'll see how it goes...

UPDATE: after waiting for it to do something (anything) for 20 minutes, pulled the battery and restarted, same issue, hung on SAMSUNG boot screen. Pulled battery again, loaded up the bootloader (vol down+camera+power), rebooted from there, and I'm back to EB13 (sigh.).

Can't re-initiate update from market or update menu...

Just got the update 20 min ago. Went from manual update EB13. Sprint ID is actually pretty smooth, the launcher that is. Still sticking with launcher pro though

I got the EC05 update OTA earlier tonight. I was stock EB13 before.

I was having no problems with EB13 personally. My Epic was running the best it ever had. I hope this update is just as stable and fast.

I had EB13 wasn't getting the EC05 update notification until I did a hard reset. As soon as I did the reset it started downloading the update.

I underestimated Sprint, I'd really thought that they screwed over EB13 users. I'm happy to be wrong for a change.

But now that I'm on ext4 and getting blazing quadrant scores, it's hard for me to go back to stock.

The same thing happened to me. The update hung at the exclamation mark screen and although I'm running with EB13, I don't know how to restart the upgrade.

Same thing happened to me. It said the update couldn't be verified or something like that, so i just restarted up the phone back into EB13.

Powered off phone this morning. Restarted and was notified I had some app updates available. (Wifi on) Within a couple of minutes I was notified of the EC05 update. (Previously running manual EB13 from Sprint before it was pulled.)

Seems to be working. Haven't had a chance to make a call yet.

Had updated to EB13 using update.zip from samsung site originally. Unrooted. Today morning received EB05 over OTA and installed without any issue. Live in east coast.

+1 for factory reset. I had eb13, did a factory reset, waited a few and the message popped up to update my phone. I now have ec05.

@ all ,

Nice to see everyone is getting the OTA update pushed out without issues. Seems like the push for EB13 to EC05 is going much better and faster than Eclair 2.1 (DI18) to Froyo EC05.

I think this is finally the real deal you have all been waiting for... Enjoy, for better or worse..

I've had some apps act flaky the first time used with EC05, like Battery Indicator Pro but a restart fixed them.

Yes, Received the update last night around 1030p - Which it was a shock to me since I thought they (Sprint) forgot about me.. LOL...

Originally downloaded the updated from Samsung website for the EB13...

I finally have EC05 installed, but I had to do it manually. I found these instructions in the Sprint forums (http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/64944?start=990&tstart=0):

- Download the file that Paco posted:

http://android.clients.google.com/p...0/20428846d0d6.update-SPH-D700_EB13ToEC05.zip

- Move this file to /sdcard and rename it update.zip

- Install Rom Manager from Market, run this, and select the option to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Then select reboot into ClockworkMod.

- When the phone reboots, use the volume rocker to select "Install update.zip from SDCARD" and then press the "power" button to confirm. Then select "Yes" to start the install.

- After it installs, select "Reboot phone now."

You should boot up into EC05. All settings are maintained.

It's important to get the latest ClockworkMod as instructed. I had an older version installed, but it wasn't working with the zip file.

still have not recivied the update tried to dl a app from market and uninstall, now in the process of doing a factory reset. Hope this works....

just finished the factory reset, got the message saying that spring id is on its way. still no up date.

To all, don't use ROM Manager to install ClockWorkMod after rooting. The versions of CWM in ROM Manager are not up to date with what we are using on the Epic currently and will cause more headaches than its worth. This also goes for attempting to use ROM Manager for backups and also to boot into recovery, etc.. For now until ROM Manager is updated, it is best to avoid it.

Interested in rooting and installing CWM look below.
