Any EB13 Users get the OTA update to EC05? Post here!

FWIW, a friend of mine who works for Sprint that had EB13 got hers updated to the latest release without losing anything.

A bit off topic, but interesting....My sister and her boss both bought new Epics TODAY. They both came with EB13, not ECLAIR and not ECO5!

i was on stock elcair. didnt us any windows device. completed whole process on phone alone. seemed a bit buggy and had to power off and back on once after applying update.zip file but fine afterwards. a problem i had a few times before surfaced while updating(phone frozen with only wallpaper showing and service signal.)

if there are any apps that wont work it is because theyve been replaced with newer versions

excuse my lack of knowledge but i updated using clockwork to EB13. now i see people saying it can be updated using odin. are they one and the same? could i upgrade using clockwork and not odin if they are different?

Check out this link to use the Odin process. It seems pretty simple but I haveto wait until tonight to try it out.

who else is completely, bone dry, stock Froyo 2.2 EB13, all sprint bloatware, all samsung bloatware, and hasn't received the prompt to update? Are people with EB13 not getting it???

I've called Sprint 3 times and got 3 different answers ranging from "I don't know" to "you'll get it by the end of the week". One sent me to a download site where it didn't exist. They're clueless and it looks like we'll get the shaft on this one.

thanks. i did see that but it uses odin, not clockwork. i'll see if sprint pushes it OTA tonight and if not i'll try the odin technique tomorrow.

I was worried as well, until earlier today when I said "enough is enough". I then decided to factory reset my Epic, after it went through the process and finally booted back up, I noticed my Epic was downloading something, and sure enough it was MR4 EC05, otherwise know as froyo. I'm not saying this will definitely work for everyone, but it certainly worked for me...

Still nothing here in the Northeast, Connecticut to be exact. 8:50 PM et. I guess we have until midnight to say they didn't do what they said they would do. I haven't tried the factory reset yet, but might try that tomorrow.

I was hesitant to try it at first also, but it worked. If its not a big deal resetting, I say go for it.

Big problem is that it is my wife's phone. I am going to have to back up everything before I update it. I usually like to start from scratch when doing this type of update, wipe sd card and phone. I usually use the other method to wipe phone:

With phone off.
Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
A menu displays with Facebook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Press the Volume Down button to select Clear Storage
If you want to confirm, type Volume Up for YES. If not, type Volume Down for NO

This works great if you can't but into the phone.

There is no way to go from Eclair 2.1 (DI18) to Official Froyo EB13 or EC05, using ClockWorkMod. It has to be done either by means of "update.zip" method (which is done in the stock recovery mode) or by using Odin and a ".tar" file to flash the update.

^^^Thats for the Evo but yes hold down power and volume down and camera boot into recovery scroll down to reset with the volume down and then home key on your phone to select factory data reset

I got tired of waiting and used Paul's way so I finally have the update.

My wife has stock EB13 - No update
My brother has stock EB13 - No update
My sis has stock EB13 - No update
Her boss has stock EB13 - No update
My other brother has stock DI18 - No update
His wife has stock DI18 - No update
My bro-in-law has stock DI18 - No update
His wife has stock DI18 - No update

We all live in Texas and I am the only one that got the email (after I manually updated).

I manually updated to EB13, no update yet for me and I'm not holding my breath.
We are in Texas too.
