I'm with Verizon and I still owe about 400 on my V20. I want the V30. what I will probably do is pay off the V20 with my credit card then trade in my V20 to get the note 8. I can get around 360 for the trade in. I'll then get the note 8 on the payment plan (around $6 something) but sell it on Swappa. I'll use that to pay off the remainder of the note 8 and what is left will go back to my credit card. then I'll be completely clear to get the V30 and do it all over again next year.
I know that sounds like a lot of work, but the resale value in the V20 isn't very high.
Verizon isn't even including it with the 50% off on the note 8 deal.
You can't sell the note on Swappa until after it is paid off can you?
Thanks man. I didn't think about that. I'll pay it off first then sell ituh oh.. donebrasko
You aren't trying to scam someone on Swappa into buying a phone thats not paid off yet are you?
Not accusing.. just asking because i buy on Swappa too and would not want to get screwed buying a phone that is still on payment plan and IMEI will not activate as a result.
That would not be cool..
if I can get this v20 battery life to extend..... I'm happy!
I'm on Tmo and even though 600mhz (Band 71) is just starting to roll-out, I'm not interested in the Note 8 because it doesn't support it. The V30 is unconfirmed. At any rate, I'll keep my V20 until phones with B17 support start to hit the market. Then I'll see what is out there.
Actually the V30 has been the only phone T-Mobile has confirmed that will be the first with 600mhz.
Just do a factory reset and re-download fresh apps. Do not reinstall from back-up.
I had the same issue, and reinstalling from back-up just brought the problem back.
But when I went fresh downloads, the issue disappeared.
My guess is it was a looping app trying to complete a process but never could properly. Guess I'll never know, but I fixed it, so dont care.

Hoping my Note 8 arrives today. I like the V20 BUT I started getting really bad temporary screen retention about a couple months ago and it's getting worse by the day. Not only that but this phone is lagging big time! I'm used to the usual Samsung lag (lol) but this phone literally pauses for a sec or 2 while I'm typing at least a couple times a day. I will miss the Hifi DAC but my V20 just didn't age well.

I would wait and not get it. It's nothing exciting. It's really a rehash of the S8 Plus. Don't give in to the hype. The hype will die eventually, and prices will drop. The phone isn't actually worth $1000. Probably only $500 with that $1000 wiggle room to earn profit. The trade in is also a trap, heard horror stories of them not honoring certain phones, and then keeping your phone and not return it.
