anybody jumping to the new note 8?

Yep its strange the LG V10 isn't listed but the G4 and G5 you can get $300 for it on trade in for the Note 8.

Yep, so after seeing the V30 this morning I'm not missing much from what I currently need and have. So I pre ordered my Note 8 this morning with the trade in for my G4 at $300 for a total price to my door of $630 with wireless charging and Micro SD Card. Then my LG V20 will be my last LG Product unless LG offers something in the future to bring me back to the V line up.

I'm with Verizon and I still owe about 400 on my V20. I want the V30. what I will probably do is pay off the V20 with my credit card then trade in my V20 to get the note 8. I can get around 360 for the trade in. I'll then get the note 8 on the payment plan (around $6 something) but sell it on Swappa. I'll use that to pay off the remainder of the note 8 and what is left will go back to my credit card. then I'll be completely clear to get the V30 and do it all over again next year.

I know that sounds like a lot of work, but the resale value in the V20 isn't very high.

Verizon isn't even including it with the 50% off on the note 8 deal.

You can't sell the note on Swappa until after it is paid off can you?

uh oh.. donebrasko
You aren't trying to scam someone on Swappa into buying a phone thats not paid off yet are you?
Not accusing.. just asking because i buy on Swappa too and would not want to get screwed buying a phone that is still on payment plan and IMEI will not activate as a result.

That would not be cool..

Thanks man. I didn't think about that. I'll pay it off first then sell it

Maybe, probably not though because of the price tag. It's essentially the S8 Plus with S Pen and dual telephoto camera. Pretty much the same exact phone. I didn't like the shape/design of the S8 Plus so most likely I won't like the Note 8. The Note 8 looks very long compared to the V30. The Note and Galaxy phones are essentially the same but the Note had the S Pen and bigger screen, CPU the same.

if I can get this v20 battery life to extend..... I'm happy!

Just do a factory reset and re-download fresh apps. Do not reinstall from back-up.

I had the same issue, and reinstalling from back-up just brought the problem back.

But when I went fresh downloads, the issue disappeared.

My guess is it was a looping app trying to complete a process but never could properly. Guess I'll never know, but I fixed it, so dont care.

I'm on Tmo and even though 600mhz (Band 71) is just starting to roll-out, I'm not interested in the Note 8 because it doesn't support it. The V30 is unconfirmed. At any rate, I'll keep my V20 until phones with B17 support start to hit the market. Then I'll see what is out there.

Actually the V30 has been the only phone T-Mobile has confirmed that will be the first with 600mhz.

Thanks...I will definitely try that tonight!

It worked! Thank you!

the v20 is a great phone, but with the note 7 trade in offer, i couldnt refuse the note 8 upgrade. trade in my v20 plus 550 and get the note 8.

I am sticking with v20 as I really honestly like the phone. after note 7, I was forced into another phone and have been very pleased.

won't lie that the trade in offer was very tempting though!!!

Hoping my Note 8 arrives today. I like the V20 BUT I started getting really bad temporary screen retention about a couple months ago and it's getting worse by the day. Not only that but this phone is lagging big time! I'm used to the usual Samsung lag (lol) but this phone literally pauses for a sec or 2 while I'm typing at least a couple times a day. I will miss the Hifi DAC but my V20 just didn't age well.

There's a reason for lag that bad.... Most likely bad apps

Do you ever clear your apps cache and your system cache?

i ordered a note 8 on samsung's site but am seriously considering cancelling it.
the v20 really is a nice phone. way under rated.
note 8 will cost around $580 for phone with the trade in and note 7 offer. plus case and protector again, it will cost me $650. plus mandatory insurance since phone is so expensive.
the v20 you can buy new for 300. i'll skip paying insurance and take my chances. heck you'll pay a 200 deductible anyways....
i guess in other words, even with the trade in offer, it still costs a lot of money, for a phone that isnt really that much better.

I would wait and not get it. It's nothing exciting. It's really a rehash of the S8 Plus. Don't give in to the hype. The hype will die eventually, and prices will drop. The phone isn't actually worth $1000. Probably only $500 with that $1000 wiggle room to earn profit. The trade in is also a trap, heard horror stories of them not honoring certain phones, and then keeping your phone and not return it.

Yep, I cancelled my pre order yesterday and I will keep cash in my pocket till something else excites me. The note screen is too big that’s for sure even at times my V20 can be too large.

I will be leaving my V20 for the Note 8. I really gave LG a shot to win me over, but I'm ready to go back to Samsung. My Note 8 has shipped and I hope it gets delivered today.
