Anyone coming from iPhone 7 or Plus?

I can tell you this, HD voice is not near as good on iphone 7 plus compared to the Pixel. The Note 7 HD voice was even better than both of them. It was insane clear.

That must vary per carrier. HD voice sounds excellent for me on T-Mobile just as it did with my previous iPhones, Galaxies, and Note devices using T-Mobile.

It may be different. I use verizon.

On the iphone 7 you can just barely tell a difference. Pixel is really noticeable and Note 7 was like WOW! The wife didnt like when I called her on the note 7 because she said it sounded like I was a robot. hahahaha

So take the hardware out of the picture, sure, the Pixel is a great phone. But hardware-wise, it's a huge downgrade.

The reception on the Pixel is worse, OP. There's a whole 26-page thread about it here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...ixel-signal-dropping-update-google-knows.html

In your opinion -- sure. In his / mine -- nope :). TBH the iPhone has the worst reception out of any phone when I had a 6 Plus here at work. Def. not the case for all but for my use that is how it went.

Why would you do that? The design and functionality of the iPhone 7 Plus is so much better than the Pixel/Pixel XL.

You're downgrading and I don't understand why.

I don't feel like I am down grading and tend to disagree with the point you made about functionality. I think the iPhone and iOS in general is becoming less functional. Notifications are awful, ever get 2-3 at a time? The notification center is terrible and in my experience with all of my iPhones since the 5 is that they cannot stay connected to unsecured Wifi hotspots without the need to renew your connection every 5 minutes. Also, I fell like Apple kind of has no idea what they're doing right now. They just seem like a company behind on times and one that doesn't know what to do about it. I like Google's services and use them on my iPhone, don't like iCloud because it never works as intended and am even considering getting rid of my MacBook and iMac because of how crappy they have been performing which to me is blasphemy. I like the Pixel from playing with it in the store and love Android, hence my decision.

My device was a Moto Z Play, I got an iPhone 7 Plus but only had it for a week. While I liked the hardware, software was lacking for me. I didn't like the notification system on iOS, or how bluetooth works on iPhone. If i'm playing music through bluetooth, I can't snapchat or use soundhound because it'll switch the audio to the iPhone and then back to the speaker or whatever was using bluetooth. I hate that. I wasn't too impressed by the camera actually. I had the S7 Edge before my Z play so I didn't really think it was all that great, but it is good. I been using the Pixel for a few days now, and honestly software does not fly on it. Idk what it is, but i been a bit let down with the talk of software on it. I feel like my Z Play runs better since I haven't had any lag on that compared to the Pixel. Don't get me wrong, The Pixel is still a smooth machine, but the Z Play is better from the time I have used the Pixel. Camera is fantastic, I think it's cool how you can do Lens Blur with the front facing camera, and night time shots are great. The fingerprint sensor on the Pixel is slow, I have to almost push the nonexistant button for it to read my finger when I unlock the phone. The Z Play's fingerprint sensor is miles better since I barely have to set my finger before it unlocks the phone. Maybe I got a defective Pixel? , but I'm feeling like i'm gong to return it within my 14 days especially since battery life is terrible on it. I'm getting about 3 SOT and not really using it much.

I was playing with iPhone 7 Plus from Apple Store and making comparison with my Pixel. I must say that I am learning that iPhone seems slower in terms of browsing and scrolling through websites. While the Pixel seems more fluid and so snappy scrolling. A friend of mine who own a 7 plus was amazed about my pixel being so snappy. That was his wording as well.

This has been the general sentiment I have noticed as well, after using both extensively, and especially being in a workplace that is largely split between Apple/Android (plenty of samples available). In day-to-day operation the Pixel is undoubtedly the snappier more fluid phone with no stutters or hang-ups, even while scrolling. They simply do a better job marrying the software with the hardware it would seem. Add to that a much better screen, vastly superior notification system, quick charging (how does the iPhone still not have this?), better battery life, and much better camera and it makes quite a nice package.

Wow. I'd definitely say something is wrong with your Pixel. I'm at 3 hours SOT right now and still have 68% of my battery left. Also, the fingerprint scanner on my Pixel is super fast. Easily on par with the fingerprint reader on my iPhone 6s. I hope you can get it worked out but you gotta choose the phone that works best for you. For me, it's the Pixel.

I use to be an iPhone follower. I thought there was nothing else better. But, I am sickened to learn that the device I once loved just lost its superiority in operating system area. They use to be fluid as well and simple to use. But those days are gone and all Apple has been doing is just either making updates that is just not useful. Instead, it made it more complicated to use. Apple was suppose to be about simplicity and easy of use Which is why I turned to Pixel.

Yes I had the 7 plus twice and while its web browsing and app opening time might be a little better than the pixel, it falls short for me. The reason I always went back to an iPhone over the years was the fact that whatever Android phone I used(every flagship) was unable to match the iphone's level of fluidity and smoothness. That is no longer the case now that we have the Pixel. It's much more fluid to use than the 7+. The iPhone drops frames, stutters while scrolling and is janky in a lot of apps. This was running the latest 10.2 version of iOS. Pixel is a better performing device. Only thing I miss is iMessage.

I have noticed a lot of these issues as well, mostly since I ordered my Pixel. I think my phone is pouting knowing it is going back to the store. I will miss FaceTime and iMessage as everyone in my family has an iPhone or iPad, but the wife and I don't use iMessage much and have instead turned to Hangouts and SnapChat/Instagram to share photos since they work well. I just would rather not be locked down. I had Android phones for about 3 months in 2016 and am hoping to make it 12 in 2017. I always come back but it is less appealing especially with the rehash that is the iPhone 7 Plus.

Well I got my Pixel XL and it's awesome! Setup was easy though it took about two hours to get everything done. Can't wait to go through a full day tomorrow!

Congrats! I love my pixel 128gb and I don't have any plans of changing a phone anytime soon. I just love this phone.

I don't have a case on it yet (it'll be here today) but it feels so much smaller in the hand than the 7 Plus which is strange to me. My wife and I played with Allo last night which was fun.

I like allo but no one I know uses it. So I just stick with the standard app. But I must say the Pixel is fantastic. I am glad I decided to try out and I'm digging the firm factor. The build is fantastic and I think it's better then my 7 plus. And being able to use it one handed is a definite plus.

Been a while since I have had a phone this size.

I think Apple is having trouble deciding what features to implement in their new OSes without allowing more control. The iMessage update was a cute gimmick but honestly after the initial 2-3 days I never used stickers or the expressions you could use. Safari is mostly fine but never gets new features. I HATE the new Music app and the way Maps looks. Music looks like a 2 year old designed it and Maps is a mess. The mail app is great though. I think Apple needs to reevaluate iOS the way they did in 2013 when iOS 7 came out with the all new design, except this time they need to tweak more than just the icon packs and try to add more customization. Staring at the same icons, in the same grid day after day is awful. They made some steps forward but I still don't care much for it. Also, with my iPhone 7 Plus the screen scratched sooooooo easily. I hated it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing the slowness of iOS 10 on the 7 plus.
