Google Pixel XL looks like the real deal. Really impressed with their camera demonstration in the live presentation.
Plus faster, newer 821 processor than V20.
AMOLED screen (better battery life)
Larger battery
New version of Nouget of 7.1, instead of 7.0

And best part - pre-order today and delivery is by Oct 20 (verizon says).

LG lost so many sales by dragging their feet with this terrible V20 launch, which began teasing exactly 60 days ago.

@Almeuit?
Yep. I really liked what I saw with the V20 but LG just dragged their feet. They have a keynote back in September but now it's October and the US only has a leaked release date.

I watched the Pixel XL presentation and really liked what I saw so.. I bought it. I got a 128 GB Pixel XL in black on order :).

Oh, you are 100% correct.... LG COMPLETELY screwed the pooch when it comes to the V20 launch. "Here's a phone you won't be able to buy for a few months, maybe.... we'll let you know when its ready".

I mean.... everything is stacked against them now. Not only will the Note 7 going back on sale nibble away at the press, you'll have the flood of Google Pixel reviews and press. They needed a win with the V20 and they basically gave the field a full lap head start.

No Pixel for T-Mobile Jump, no sign of V20 availability.

Google and LG probably just sold me a Note 7!

Samsung should thank them!

It's pretty sad. They had a golden opportunity and they passed it up. After failing with the G5 and its modular design they could have made up for that with the V20 but I think they've blown it. I mean, there's really no point for them to have that press event on September 6th if you're not going to reveal pricing and release info. I think the only thing they've said about release is 3rd quarter?? We're into 4th quarter now and still nothing. Well I guess they did start shipping in Korea on the 29th.

Pixel is too expensive. I'll wait for the V20, get 64 GB storage with SD card support, bigger screen, and a swappable battery... All for much cheaper. I doubt the V20 will be more than $700 and I refuse to pay $869 for the Pixel XL.

I'm not sold on the Pixel yet. Still leaning V20, but LG definitely screwed up with this long delay. The world has a short attention span now, can't wait that long to launch. The game has changed.

Has LG even announced a date?

Good for you! Congrats. Free daydream gizmo too. Nice.

Man you're just not getting much for $870. No micro sd card, waterproofing, stereo speakers, wireless charging etc.. Besides the superior camera and fast updates, the pixels are are almost spec for spec with the axon 7. At least with something like the note 7 you get a buttload of hardware goodies to justify that kind of price.

First, any phone at that price is outrageous... But...

Since I've had my issue free 6P, my wife has gone through 4 phones... A G4 that while nice, consumed power like a poorly tuned '70 Cuda and occasionally focused like a stoned college student. Her S7 was also thirsty, and the camera sometimes decided to not save a picture... Oh, the FFC would take black pictures from time to time... Her first Note 7 was recalled because 'splosions... She's now on her second Note 7. Hope this one works.

I'm fairly certain that the Pixel will run just as great as my 6P, and run great for a long time... I've owned many phones over the years and the Nexus phones have always been known commodities. I'd be willing to pay a premium for that.

I agree with this. No phone should cost more than $600 imo. Just not worth it. And with Apple and Samsung you're paying more for brand name. Don't get me wrong, the Galaxy series phones are great and the iPhones are probably too but not $850 - $1,000 great.

I see nothing about the Pixel that intrigues me.

Looks promising. As expensive as LG G5 too. Carried exclusively by Verizon. I dont like the design tho. Have to wait what the next one have to offer.
LG G5 is a joke. Looks like LG is over with the modules with their G6. Good bye LG G5Frankenstein.

Ditto. Just... Ditto.

I'm definately done with LG. V20 or not. Had the G3 loved it. Was a beast of a phone. Would be still using it if the 6.0 update didn't destroy the wifi, Bluetooth, and ability to make calls. The Pixel's sound like amazing phones with Assistant and updates in the back ground. To me it's like having Alexa and an iPhone, only better. It's Android.

The Pixel XL is really an average phone. I can't even them credit for the design, they didn't even bother to make it look any better or different than an IPhone. This phone doesn't even have any sweet ehancements for this warrant the $800+ retail price. If the ZTE Axon 7 can sell for 400 with flat Android, can you really justify spending the extra 400 for a slightly better processor (820 to 821) with no microSD slot & no front facing speakers?....I'll say it, it's ridiculous.
