Anyone giving up on LG and moving to Google Pixel XL?

The Pixel's sound like amazing phones with Assistant and updates in the back ground. To me it's like having Alexa and an iPhone, only better. It's Android.
Both the Assistant and background updates are likely coming to the V20. I'm not as sure about Assistant, I think I read it'll be set up for background updates.

If they're not there out of the box they're almost certainly not coming. Do we know if they're there out of the box?

I only recently heard about Assistant on a radio program. It doesn't sound like a feature I'd personally be interested in, so I never looked further into it and only knew it was coming. I do know that background updates is a feature of Nougat, but the phone has to be set up with it out of the box (meaning current phones like the Note 7 will never have it even with a Nougat update) and it's not required. One or two of the initial V20 reviews mentioned having this feature, but don't ask me to remember exactly which one. DX

Ive never had a phone larger than 32gb, so not sure i need the 128gb model. Especially if everything is synced to google photos at full resolution for free. So i'll be in that $769 camp.

I feel like I read that the assistant was one of the 3 or 4 exclusives to the pixels.

I originally came in here to rant but already saw that everyone else has the same complaint I do...
I still think it's crazy that it's been this long since the big reveal. Since then we've seen the iP7, the pixels, and even the note 7 is being restocked/sold as of tomorrow. Where is LGs mind in all of this?

The only reason lg hasn't released the v20 yet is because of Android nougat....if it had marshmallow it could have been released by now.....

Your guess is as good as mine. Some people at the event on September 6th said that the LG reps weren't hyping up the V20 at all and they didn't expect the phone to be a big seller for them. When I heard that it baffled me but not anymore. Their silence over the past month and lack of any updates on pricing or release makes me think they don't want this phone to be a big seller for them, at least here in the US.

I have to say I don't take many pictures, but the wide angle and camera and great normal camera on my g5 do come in handy for videos, and the now common ois in modern flagships is very helpful. I'm wondering how the pixel camera can stack up to the g5 in video recording when the pixel does not have ois.

No Pixel for T-Mobile Jump, no sign of V20 availability.

Google and LG probably just sold me a Note 7!

Samsung should thank them!
I'm gonna apply for financing for the Pixel, if I don't get approved then I'll be getting a Note 7 too. Such a shame that an amazing phone like the Pixel isn't available for all carriers. Exclusives never work.

Only at first... No way that Google keeps GAsst as a Pixel only feature. That would mean that they see Google Assistant as a carrot to get people to buy Pixels. Akin to how Apple has iMessage an iPhone only feature... its an achor to keep people purchasing iphones, a device whose sales provides 2/3rds of Apple's operating revenue. But Google isn't looking to sell phones, or sell home assistants, or smart wifi routers... they are looking for all that hardware to get people using Google Assistant. The Pixel is still, in a sense, a means to an end... just more directed than the Nexus.

Well see some GAsst features how up in other phones in the upcoming months, and the 6P and 5X will get a good chunk of it when they get 7.1 (by the end of the year Google said). But I think they are going to have Google Assisant on as many phones (and platforms) as they can manage.

Verizon exclusive = fail

If you want your product to sell well......wouldn't you want to offer it on every carrier?!?!
