Anyone Returned Inc For a New One?

Swapped mine out due to a faulty charger. VZW didn't have just the chargers and wanted to swap the whole unit in case the charger damaged the charging circuits or the battery.

mine is going back tomorrow for a replacement due to the fact it keeps overheating....and it is overheating just sitting in my holster ...so i have a software issue...

Do you get a new one or just a refurbished one? Should I call or just go to the store and will it cost me anything? I'm also having the screen shift out of no where...lol

Agreed. Although, to be extra safe, I would walk into a VZW store and make sure they don't dump a refurb on you.

If I return the device, I'm visiting the cute chick at my local VZW store anyway. lol.

So I bring all the original box and stuff when I bring it to the store? Lol or just bring phone. Lol

Just wondering if anyone here has returned their Inc -- for any reason -- in order to get a replacement. Anyone?

If yes,
1. for what problem were you replacing the phone?
2. did the new replacement solve the problem for you?

VZW told me that a new batch of phones may have fewer bugs, and I have 30-days to return my phone. I have issues with home screens that change by themselves and a terribly buggy optical joystick. So, just wondering if anyone has a better Incredible from a magical, new batch. :)

Thank you.

i'm having the same problem with my phone! i went in store and they were absolutely no help. they said i need to call in to get a replacement phone but that i'd have to send in my phone first before i can receive another...and on top of that, said verizon might not even have any in stock so there is a possibility of not getting a new one for awhile. did you have problems with that?

no problems at all after i had to replace my phone.i dont know if it was a bad batch or not .i preorder 2 incredibles and out of those 2 , 1 was rebooting because of the live wallpapers

I went in for my exchange today. The FM radio is not working correctly. The tech at the store confirmed and assured me (along with the customer service rep on the phone prior to going to the store) that I would be getting a new one in exchange.

Well, after it was all set up to be sent, I received an email.."how to activate your certified like new phone". Called up customer service, she explains thats not correct and that I should get a new phone. She calls the store where the tech set up the exchange to be shipped, they are out of stock with no known date of phones arriving. I can either take the shipped "certified like new phone" or refuse it and get on a waiting list from the store when they get new ones in..I decide I'll refuse the shipment and wait for a new one from the store.
So I call up the store to get on the waiting list for when phones get shipped to the store. The store manager tells me don't refuse the shipment, as they apparently wont get any new phones in till JUNE. She tells me there are no certified like new phones yet, the phone is too new for that.
So I call back VZW customer service again, get another woman..tell her the story thus far...She agrees with the store manager that the phone that's already on its way to me will be new, even though it shows in their system that a certified like new phone is being shipped to me.
So, I guess I'll know by Wednesday at the latest just what will come in the mail. I didnt think there would be refurbs yet, but it shows in their system that thats whats being sent to me.

Always safest to being everything... If I get a new device, I like everything to be new as well. Also so the numbers on the box match the device (hex or whatever they call the cdma stuff)

Please come back and let us know what you get. Sounds frustrating. I suppose you couldn't have chosen to continue using the current Inc phone until the new one is delivered to you?

If I do an exchange, I'm going to hold off until the day right before my grace period expires. I figured it would be a hassle to return the phone right now.

No no, I still have my original phone. They said the instructions to send my original back will be in the box with the "new" phone. God help them if it's not a new phone!
I see where they are coming from, saying its too new a phone to have certified like new ones floating around...but when you tell me "its more then likely going to be a new phone, so don't worry"..well I worry lol...especially now that my original will be floating around at some point soon, only having it 2 weeks after launch..makes me wonder how many others who don't frequent the forums have sent theirs back.

I think my button on the top of the phone has gone "soft". It doesn't have any feel to it, almost like it's broken. I am going to go into a store tomorrow and compare it. Any one else feel like that button has worn out? It still works just sooo sensitive now.

My phone was randomly restarting itself. I called vzw and I got a new one that day. It was working perfectly but again I had 2 random restarts in the last 2 days. Anyone else experience this?

Mine is restarting itself too. I set an alarm for the morning and it never went off due to the restart. Also I had switched to a live background and rearranged some home screens and in the morning things seemed to have been reset (no more live home screen and some widgets no longer on the home screen).

Yeah mate, on android-forums.com there was a thread about the on/off button. You're not alone in this. A lot of peoples button is actually sinking into the phone and becoming less responsive. Different people in different stores are saying different things. It will be hard to tell if a replacement will even fix the issue seeing as how it seems to be fairly wide-spread.

Any phones shipped out from Verizon will be new. I received mine last week, it was new even though in the system it said certified like new. Came in a new box, papers, etc. However still having a ton of problems. Might just return and wait a month or so till they fix some of the bugs.

When mine restarts it does not reset any customizations. The phone just restarts and thats it. The past 3 times it has happened. I was driving and I felt the vibrate in my pocket. I am wondering if I am holding down the power button while its in my pocket. I am a personal trainer so I do not wear tight clothing just basic workout pants.
