I know what the intended use of the cover screen is. However they recognize that most people used it a lot for everything which is why they made the screen bigger from the original. I'm saying I think it still needs to be wider to accommodate normal use. It's not always practical to open the phone up. I only open it up when I have time and space but as an everyday driver, a wider screen would be more practical to me. Maybe that is not their goal though. I still love it and nothing beats being able to look at my pics and videos on the big screen, however. Very much looking forward to what they do with the ZF4.
Make the phone shorter if weight is the concern?
Exactly. Some people won't be happy unless they have this![]()
That's funny, because I'm not advocating for a larger overall screen, but a wider screen. As I said, make it shorter, then - if the concern is that the size is too big.
I also find it amusing that we would critique a desire for a wider screen when all of us who got this phone got it because of the bigger screen inside in the first place.
Maybe this guy could explain it better as to what Oppo did.

If a camera is that important to you, "ride or die feature" you might need to look at stand alone canmeras. I haven't found one bad picture I took with the fold 3, oh darn it, I can't take a picture of the moon.
Edit...when I say you, I mean people in general..not just you.
Neither can I. I am hardly ever referring to just one person even if I quote you, I'm just commenting on something you said in your post. But I didn't say it was MY ride or die feature at all, so it's not even "just me," at all, in any way... or did you mean, "... not you..." lol.
I was postulating why someone... someone ELSE... might prefer to go back to a slab phone.
I said that it's good enough for me.
However, I say, with 100% assuredness, that the pictures it takes are not as good as pictures taken with my old Note 10+, but that they're good enough for me.
I can't ever see myself going back to a slab phone ever again. Not that I won't necessarily upgrade someday, but it sure won't be to a slab phone, cause that's a downgrade.

I always forget talking thru texting lacks expression. I'm just conversing on here is all. And yes...fold foreverIt was because you said, "... not JUST you..." implying that I was part of the collective you.
I wasn't offended, or had my jimmies rustled, or anything like that I just wanted to clarify what I was trying to say.

That would be what keep me from getting one. I miss the days when the Note had a flat screen. It was nice when it was a new thing; but now it just gets in the way. I'm loving my fold 3; just wish the outer screen was wider and it had micro SD support. Looking forward to seeing what the Z Fold 4 will bring! The Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra does.

I agree with you.Making ZF3 wider will defeat the purpose of using it one handed when folded. Am good with current form factor but I appreciate if Samsung can reduce it's weight.
Yeah I like the current form factorMaking ZF3 wider will defeat the purpose of using it one handed when folded. Am good with current form factor but I appreciate if Samsung can reduce it's weight.

I'll give you that the battery life isn't as good as the fold 2 was, but any power user needs to have power sources close by with any phone, I did with the notes also. I've gotten all day with power to spare on days I'm not constantly using the phone. Last Friday I was streaming music or talking on the phone on my 10 hour shift, the whole shift with occasional facebooking, text messages, and went out to dinner with friends just carrying the phone around for another 5 hours and I did not run out of power and never plugged it in. That's good enough for me. I use the battery up when I'm on the big screen all the time, which is often, but my point is the battery can get you all day unless you use it a lot, then you need to find charge time, but that's no different then the notes or any phone.I'm done with the Fold 3 battery life is horrible. Front screen is too small. And all the cases suck and scratches my $1700 device. It was nice to try it but just not practical for me specifically. I'm still keeping the Fold 3, I am just trading in my Note 10+ for the s22 ultra. Been a Note user forever but wanted to try the Fold. Great new Tech, but not ready for my hands yet.
