Are phones getting too big?

That's what she said.

But I'm still holding out hope the Nexus 6 is no more than 5.5"

What I said was a bunch of BS LOL. I actually own the 6-inch Lumia 1520. Shouldn't have said something. Haha

The phone feels really nice though, I must admit.

The 1520 is a NICE phone! If Windows Phone has the apps you need and you're not anti-phablet (and the stars are all aligned and the moon is at the right place in its orbit...jk) it's a great choice. I tried it 2x but both times Windows Phone didn't have apps that I really use.

I'm waiting for the Nexus 6. But I'm hoping that this isn't a too big step from 4.7 to 6 inches. If it is, it won't be in my possession for too long. But more than 6 inches is beginning to be too big, and if you can't fit it in your pockets. Is it even a carry on model any more?

Yea, I think that's the general consensus. I also think Apple figured that out and that's why they're going with 4.7. If there was no home button, I'm willing to bet they would go to 4.8.

Moto X for me is perfect! And it's just about the same foot print as the 5s give or take a mm

As someone who is over 40 i am very happy to see phones continue to get bigger. The human body is not kind when it comes to aging and the eyes, many over 40 need screens 5.5" or bigger to comfortably see what is on the screen.

All the 20 and 30 year olds will be wanting big phones eventually as they get older.

I'm over 40 and hate the bigger screens, might as well carry a tablet around in your pocket.

As you can see, there's no one size fits all. What may be perfect for one is aggregious to another. I love the big screens...more room to work with.

Clearly there is demand for both, manufacturers have dropped the ball when it comes this. Sony got it right in offering two sizes and the compact is just as powerful as the bigger version. So much of the time the mini's or smaller phones loose too much functionality and are basically an afterthought. I just wish VZ was on board with the Z3 Compact.

Maybe the future will give us both.

Since I'm not anti-Apple I think there will always been an iPhone that nicely fits any desire I might have for a smaller phone.

No.. iphone is even getting too big imo. Those big stupid bezels are the culprit. My wife has a 6 and it's thin but big. Try a Sony xperia z3 compact if you want portability and easy of one handed use. It's the only high end one handed phone left!

Unfortunately it's not available on the evil VZ network or I'd have one right now.

I think they are. Now don't get me wrong, I could manage the nexus 6, but I think the sweet spot is more in the 5.5-5.7" similar to what LG did with the g3. I get that the phones are more mini computers and media consumption devices than phones anymore, but still like when phones can be in a pocket without knowing they are in your pocket, and not having to adjust how you have your leg when sitting down. (and no I don't wear "skinny jeans", I wear business slacks and dress pants, I am a teacher) That being said, depending what is unveiled at CES and if no nexus 5 refresh makes its way to production and on all carriers like the nexus 6, I will probably pick up a nexus 6 just to mess around with and use alongside my iPhone 6.

At some point, there will be a device small enough to use one handed that transforms into a tablet. The future is 5 years near?
