I'm now reading that Sony may be introducing an even smaller phone than the Compact; the Xperia Z4 Music (Walkman Phone) with 4" screen. Here's my take. As wearables become more accepted, smaller phones that are easier to carry will appeal to many. A wearable like the Sony SmartBand or SmartWatch paired with a smaller carry around phone that connects to your car for mapping and your Phablet at home for call forwarding just may become the norm (two phone numbers, home and mobile, no land line).
Possible ideal combination:
1) Large Phablet (phone tablet) at home for internet and calling, plus mobile when you want to carry it.
2) Easily pocketed cell phone with great camera and music abilities.
3) Wearable that at least handles notifications and text/email; and ability to talk if you want to take a quick call.
In 2015 from what is rumored and available, that might mean this combination for me:
1) Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Phablet already a year old (hopefully Sony will join in here with a 13"+).
2) Sony Xperia Z4 Compact or Music (rumored).
3) Sony SmartBand Talk (available now)
It will be interesting to see where the wearables go and what the 2015 offerings are. Sony is looking good to me. I live in the US, but generally buy factory unlocked products that function here. Sony looks like they are going to offer phones for everyones taste, from 4" to 6"+ in their
Xperia Z4 lineup for 2015.
