Are we upgrading or nah?

Was planning to, until I saw how asinine T-Mobile's Jump On Demand down payments have become. Now I'm considering leaving them altogether, since I've only kept my 4 lines there for 7 years because of JOD. It's like they're purposely canceling JOD without officially canceling it.

I'm actually going to wait to see what Apple does this year also. I have never owned one their phones so I am a bit curious. I think next year's Note will finally bring in the under display camera. Hopefully more storage and color options too. I'm happy with my Note 10 Plus for now.
Weighing things out, my Note 10+ has 256gb, vs 128 on the base model of the Note 20 ultra (the other note 20 isnt even a consideration), this is probably one of the key factors because there really isnt anything that grips me enough to pull the trigger on the Note 20 ultra 512 gb. i'll keep my eye on what Apple does later this year, if that doesnt give me any butterflies, i'll have this note for another year.

I have a question. So if I'm on the next payment plan for my note 10+ how does that work with my pre order from Samsung? When I ordered the note 10+ I didn't do a trade in so I'm lost.

I was on the fence for like 5 seconds. Will be trading in my Note 10 plus aura glow for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in mystic bronze.

I'd buy but smaller Note 20 is pretty disappointing and Ultra is just too big for me. Anyone has size comparison between Note 10, 10+, 20, and 20 Ultra?

Yep with the price of devices going up it is of no benefit to them especially since you can jump every 30 days.

I went on to the Att website 3 times before I decided that I dont need this phone. I want it , but I should wait for the next one. Y'all have fun with your new toy.lol

Did they highlight any camera upgrades from the note 10 during unpacked other than the pro video stuff? Every release I'm hoping they make some changes to their image processing but it never seems to pan out.

Im ready as of yesterday afternoon, 250 in credits plus 650 trade in. WinningScreenshot_20200805-210926_Shop%20Samsung.jpegScreenshot_20200805-210910_Shop%20Samsung.jpeg

I can't see any reason to move from my Note 10+ to a Note 20 Ultra. I don't need or care about 5G. Won't really give me any benefits. My email arrives, what a millisecond faster? 5G has tremendous potential to revolutionize connecting systems together. Main reason the carriers are building out their 5G networks is to expand into system connectivity to expand their business, not for mobile phones. Right now the only usage I can see for 5G is for people to post Speed test results on social media.

I don't game so a higher screen refresh rate does not provide me any benefits. I have 12GB of memory and tons of storage with a great processor. For my usage the phone is a beast. I am a big SPen user and have been using Note phones and tablets for years.

I normally change every two years. I would have to see a massive benefit to change. I may keep my Note 10+ for two more years. Since other vendors like Google focusing more on mid tier specs for their 4a and 5 series phones, not sure I see the need for paying a lot of money for a high end phone.

While I don't see a need, for those who do upgrade I hope you have a great experience with your new Note 20 Ultra.

As a tech junky I'm tempted but in the end I think in the end I will opt out. The $650 trade in is great, but I figure next year I can get a $550 trade in, the Note 9 is getting $550 this year. The camera bump concerns me and I don't feel the performance jump is large enough to make the change. I love my Note 10+ and feel it is enough phone to carry another year. Color choices don't concern me as much since I put a case on it. 5G is the least factor for me as I can barely grab a 4G signal where i live. To those that go for it, have fun with it!

I did go ahead and order the 512gb as I couldn't resist.

The one thing that did give me pause was the huge camera hump. My S20 Ultra has a camera glass protector (9H) and the first one did get scratched after very little time somehow. The idea that I now feel compelled to buy a camera glass protector for the huge monstrosity of camera glass and try to place my phone screen-down first was just another thing to consider but it looks like that's where Samsung's headed with their phones so it is what it is.

I wasn't going to upgrade, but now I'm thinking about it. I think that reducing the storage by half was an abysmal decistion, but... I'm only using 68 of 256GB on my Note 10 and I've never been thrilled with the battery life of this smaller Note 10. The fact that the Note 20 has a 4300mAh battery instead of the 3500mAh battery seems compelling to me. I also like the idea of the new earbuds, just because I hate the in-ear ones. I've yet to find one that is comfortable or that doesn't fall out of my ears. I also spent almost nothing on the Note 10 that I own because of Microsoft Store promos in January.
But it's a plastic phone for a grand.....

I ordered the Note 20. I may quickly decide it's too big and return it if it's much bigger than my Note 10. I'm really happy with my Note 10. The only reason I ordered the Note 20 was just to see if it was worth upgrading. With the trade in value of my current phone, educational discount, and $40 coupon from Samsung received after I cancelled my first order, it seemed the deal was too good to pass up if I might like the Note 10. Am also interested to see how I like the new Galaxy Buds live.
