I was not planning to buy it until I saw Casey Niestat's video. I think the incentives like the Gear VR and 256GB SD card may make the price sting less. I'm preordering it tonight from Best Buy.

Did you notice the phone he has his SIM card in? That to me is the tell tale.

I plan to keep my S7E; I don't think the S8 has enough upgrades and or new features for me to justify the purchase.

Wow I thought that the S8+ screen size would draw in a lot of buyers but according to the poll (even though there is not enough participation) shows a lot of people taking a pass on this one.

I don't think I will. I got the S7 on launch day and really it's been a good phone, the build quality is amazing. Thing is over the last year the software has just killed it for me, first all the carrier stuff I can't remove, then Facebook, messenger, lookout, five Amazon apps, only one I use. Then all the Samsung stuff I don't use. The battery life is pretty bad. I do love the camera.

I'm actually in day 2 of a test drive of an unlocked Moto G4 I picked up cheap on swappa. Honestly, the longer I use the G4 the harder I'm finding it is to justify a new Samsung flagship, or any flagship over $400. These mid range devices are really good and actually do everything I need and then some. In fact some things work better on the G4 than they do on the S7. Haptic feedback on the keyboard is better, Google Assistant works better and responds to my voice. The battery life is outstanding to with this octa core and I haven't had it run slow one bit so why pay for high end Samsung phones anymore when something that costs 1/3 of a typical flagship will do everything the same or better. Plus the Moto G is unlockable and rootable. Save for a killer OP4 or a price drop on an OP3T, I think I'm done with Sammy and their bloat.

Like any mainstream consumer product company, they are going to do whatever turns a profit and generates revenue.

Wow, tough crowd. Over at the Apple forum folks seem more enthusiastic. I think I see more dislike and downright hatred for Samsung amongst Android users than I do among iPhone users. I guess a lot of you have more feel for what pure Android should look and feel like, or what the better value for your dollars is, and don't think Samsung is it.

I've only had Android phones since last year when I tried the Note 7. I have an HTC 10 and an S7, both purchased on good sales and a free BOGO S7 Edge. I like what I've seen with my Samsungs enough to preorder the S8. I love my HTC 10 but think I've gotten better value and performance from my Samsungs.

I can see myself moving to OnePlus eventually. I'm keeping an eye on them.

It honestly does justify the price in my opinion, however I'd like to see the iPhone 8 before I look into buying one of these phones

I went with the regular S8. I actually liked the S8+ when I got to play with one better than I thought I would. The width of it wasn't bad at all, but thing is just too frickin tall to be something I would want to keep up with daily.

Depends on what happens with the Note 8 in the next several months... if Samsung doesn't give us some positive vibes and decent leaks, I might just defect to S8!

I plan to upgrade my phone this year and my main options are the S8 and the Xperia XZ Premium, however I am leaning towards the Xperia because of his 4K screen, since I like to play VR games.

I had a Samsung Galaxy S4. Then a Galaxy Note Edge. When Samsung stopped offering removable batteries I went to LG and got a V10. Now I have a V20. And unless Samsung comes back with a removable battery, I'm getting a V30 or V40 next. But my gf is jumping over to Android from iOS. She wanted the S8 but why would she get that over the G6 that has two 13MP cameras over the S8's single 12MP shooter? Nail in the coffin for GF to get the S8 is the curved screen, which doesn't allow for a full screen tempered glass.

I'm contemplating the purchase. The device looks great. I use to buy 5-6 phones a year and now I have been falling off of these purchases. Nevertheless, I'll go check it out and make a determination on it. The G6 looks good as well.

Well after playing with it in person, I'm sold...I mean its not a monumental upgrade from my S7 Edge, but watching videos on that screen is way better than watching it on the S7...and yeah I watch videos on my phone
