Are you going to rock it naked? Or add protection?

I'd caution against tempered glass screen protector. My experience after trying them on my S7 edge and S8 is that they don't work with curved screens. The one I tried with the S8 was particularly bad as it made it so the phone couldn't register a touch without a very firm press. The phone was almost completely non-functional with it. The one I tried with the S7 edge adhered poorly and I abandoned it within a day.

My solution with the S7 edge was a gel screen, but it didn't play well with the case and I had to trim it before it worked properly. I have no screen protector for my S8 (first phone I've had where I've gone without) and it makes me nervous, but protectors and a curved screen just don't work for me. I do have a case, and the raised lip in the front gives some fall protection for the screen. I've had several drops but the screen has survived.

Just got my Note 8 case from Amazon today, just in time for me to get my Note 8! I havent used this brand before but its clear with Orchard Grey accents! Will post pictures when I get my phone later today. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5957390

Are the tempered glass protectors like the ones for the Note 7? I HATED those! They didnt attached to the screen, just the sides so it never felt right when you used it.

I remember reading that when curved glass phones were first out, tempered glass protectors weren't all that great yet. Was hoping the case was different now.

Still haven't decided what case to get but it'll probably be a Spigen or Tech 21 case of some sort. Nice and simple.

Would be awesome if the 8 wouldn't collect fingerprints or at least show them like the 7 didn't

Got my case from Caseology yesterday, just waiting on the phone
No way I'm rocking this expensive phone naked

Curved glass always has this problem. As the adhesive is only on the sides, there is an air gap in the middle. For 70 to 80 percent of the phones using it there will be no drop in sensitivity but there are a portion of phones that will notice some dead spots. It has nothing to do with the protector, but more on the exact curvature of the screen vs the tempered glass curvature.

There are some solutions to this problem but it is highly tedious or expensive.

Another way of course is to use a soft protector. However a soft protector may face problems with the fitting of the cases. The cases are getting tighter and tighter these days and you will notice that many a time, the 4 corners are pushed up by the case due to the cutting of the Soft protector.

I'm definitely a minimalist when it comes to phone protection. I use the clearest, slimmest case I can typically get away with. I rock my phones naked occasionally and haven't ever really been a fan of screen protection, but I feel like this will be the first phone I'll add a tempered glass layer to. I'll still rock a simple, clear case (IE Spigen) but due to the curved glass and cost of these things nowadays, I see myself ordering a tempered screen protector before mine gets delivered.
I did drop my N7 a handful of times in the few months of ownership and it cartwheeled hard a few times. And it didn't even leave a mark! Dumb luck I suppose...

Otterbox commuter case already ordered. Should be here today. I paying off this phone for the next 2 years, hell yes i'm protecting it. Not big on screen protectors though.

I always rock a case on my phones. But I might be naked! Don't worry, I've NEVER used the camera on any phone, ever! YW I bought 2 of the Ringke Blue Wave for mine. Gorgeous cases!

I use a case but no screen protector. Instead I keep my phone in a microfiber eyeglass pouch when carrying it. They are cheap on eBay, provide coverage when in my pocket or messenger bag, and allows me to wipe fingerprints whenever. Has served me well for 3+ years and counting.

I bought a ringke screen proctector since I haven't found a good glass screen proctector. and a ringke thin clear case that I always buy for all my devices.

This is basically the same case I'd purchased for my note 7 and loved it. Same one I have on the iPhone 7+ too. Still have yet to decide what case to order 🙊

I can understand why some of you want to put a case on yours, but honestly after mine arrived and I've used it for the better part of the last 5 hours I can not understand why anyone would want to put a case on it!

After 1 month of usage and you see all the Micro scratches on it, then you will again understand why anyone would want to put a case on it

I'll be rocking a skinomi full body skin. It served my N5 well I just haven't decided whether the back will be matte, clear or carbon fiber.

Never had a case on my Note 5 and it looks good as new. Guess I'm just more careful with my devices then most.
