Are you gonna buy it?

I guess my point is if they don't come with premium earbuds then why even come with earbuds at all? Most basic earbuds aren't that great and most people would replace them anyway. Making them a waste. I understand though in Europe there are laws making it a requirement to supply earbuds.

Many people do not understand (or hear) the difference in sound quality. They just want to open the package, turn on their phone and listen to music.
Audiophiles will of course have other choices..

The Pixel is supposed to compete with the iPhone. It is a consumer oriented device. Not including earbuds is just a bad move.

Speaking of the iPhone and earbuds.... ;)

I have never chosen a phone for the earbuds because I already have multiple headphones/earbuds that are better than anything that would be included. But I can understand why this would be an important feature for someone who needs them.

Whatever. All previous iPhone models included one. Samsung includes earbuds. Everybody is but Google.

Not sure I'd get tied up on that - first, I don't think it's true that all the OEM's include them. I think maybe my wife's G4 did and my Galaxy Nexus did, and no other phones I've purchased came with them. That's buying LG, Moto, Google, etc. The phones that sell based on audio experience absolutely should be pushing that - Axon 7, HTC 10, LG V20 - everyone else though - seems like a waste of $2 earbuds, especially when multiplied by millions of sales. That's just throwing millions of dollars away and I'm not sure I could name a person who doesn't already have their own earbuds or headphones or BT speaker they prefer.

This wouldn't stop me either, but it adds to the list of things I would lose by getting the Pixel. My HTC 10 has high res earbuds that sound great (to me at least).
Every day I find more reasons to stay away from the Pixel. This actually makes me a bit sad. I wanted to buy the Pixel, but then came the announcement on October 4th and I got disappointed.

Very interesting. According to the Pixel webpage, there is no earbud included. This is supposed to be a premium product with normal consumers as its targets. Not including earbuds is so consumer unfriendly. Google didn't include earbuds in the Nexus 6P too, but since this is a development device, this was understandable. Fail...
Asking for such a premium price and not including earbuds is not ok.

I've never got earbuds with my phones. Not once. I don't care. The earbuds that come with phones are garbage anyway

Wait, if you got a Pixel someone is going to take your HTC earbuds?

I would of course sell the HTC to get the Pixel..Not everybody wants to have two phones, or can afford two phones. I buy two to three phones a year normally, but I never keep more than one at home. I sell all other devices.
I also have other earbuds, so I am not depending on the Pixel. It is just unfortunate and a bad choice from Google that they do not include earbuds.
Remember, they want to play in the same league as Apple..

I think it'd be nice for them to do it - but until you said something, there's no way I would have even noticed :p

Premium earbuds are included in the European HTC 10. The US version has standard earbuds.

I expect that all premium phones include earbuds.

US HTC 10 does not come with any earbuds. It must not be a premium product then.

SMH...

This I agree with . I've had every Nexus phone prior to the Pixel being announced, and the only one that included earbuds was the Nexus One. They weren't great, but it was a nice gesture. The Pixel phones do include a lot of the cables you may need, which is nice.

I don't care for stock ear buds as I own my own high-quality in ear earbuds and over ear headphones.

Just convinced myself to get the XL from my 5x, if and only if I can use WiFi calling with a Pixel purchased from Google. Think I'll have to wait for a guinea pig first to confirm though...tons of conflicting information out there

Well unless they will officially ship to my country(which unfortunately I don't see it will at the moment), there is no way for ne to buy it even tho how much I am wanna buy it. Even it does, mostly will be by third party dealer, which will increase the burden of my wallet.

When you sell a phone, do you include the ear buds?

It sure looks like they include headphones to me in this un boxing.
