Are you happy with your s6 Active

I'm really liking this phone after a day or so, but I'm noticing one major issue that may make me go back to my Nexus. When I haven't touched my phone for awhile, somethings that are supposed to sync, don't. It's like my phone goes into some sleep mode. As soon as I turn the screen back on, a lot of things come flowing in. Anyone else have this issue or know what I can do to fix this?

Do you have one of both of the power saving toggles on? I think that would cause the symptoms your talking about. Just a thought.

I thought about that. But I only have the regular power saving mode on, but only set to turn on automatically at 5% battery left. And I was at 75% when I noticed that.

Nope. Made sure it was all turned off. Didn't get any notifications for half an hour or so. Opened up theScore and in came some old score updates and a G+ update from about 20 minutes ago.

What about your WiFi settings? Is Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep on Always?

Very happy; I just ended my first charge cycle with 15% remaining- 7 hours screen on time, 2 days (heavy) use at work, and 1 (lighter) weekend day (Saturday). I had all the AT&T apps disabled, "OK Google" enabled on all screens for half the time, and used the "old time" theme from the Samsung theme store. A bunch of uninstalls / installs of course too, playing with the phone. Screen brightness set at about 30%, and then set to "Auto".

AoN

This S6A rocks- best Samsung phone since the Galaxy 2 (which I upgraded from). After a good days use (3 hours screen), I still have 69% battery left. No root, and minimal bloat disabled. AoN

Same here. Sold my S2 on swappa and not looking back.

I ended up returning mine. I found TW was actually pretty laggy. Perhaps it was just bad luck on my half but that thing was pretty bad by comparison to a lot of what I've used. It was so close to perfection though....I probably could have dealt with some lag but in the end I decided to make the jump back to T-Mobile and I didn't want to unlock the S6A and be left with no WiFi calling.

If this had stock I think it'd be the most perfect device out. Great camera, great feel in the hand, awesome battery.....and I don't know why ppl say that it's ugly. I personally find it pretty nice looking.

If someone was on ATT and their top priorities were camera and battery....I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this.

Sorry to hear about your experience! If you ever jump back, I'd recommend Nova Launcher. It's very snappy, especially if you have aggressive desktop turned on. My top priorities are battery, camera, and storage in that order. The S6A's storage options are borderline unacceptable, but they hit it out of the park with battery and camera so it was the best option for me.

This has been my experience, as well, on both the regular S6 and Active. I'm also running into an issue where I'm not getting some notifications from some apps until I either wake the screen or go into that specific app. Can't quite figure out why (but I had a similar issue on the S6). I'm most likely going to go back to my Nexus, as these two issues are deal breakers. This is an otherwise beautiful phone - screen, battery, camera, etc. are so nice that those will be tough to lose. But I'm not sure I can tolerate the lag and not getting notifications.

How did selling on Swappa go? Signed up there last night as am looking or thinking about selling my S6A.

No issues with it what so ever & think it is the best phone(my opinion) available today. But that aside, my cheap side is winning out & my old S3 still works for what I need just fine.

My Activity button is set to do this 😉

I'm torn on the S6A as well, because the FP Scanner seems so useful (both now and even more in the future) so your comment intrigues me.... what exactly do you mean by 'my activity button is set to do this'?? How do you use that button to unlock phone?

Another question:

Are there any rumors on the horizon of a new S6Active potentially coming out soon with either larger memory or a FP scanner? I'd be willing to wait if there was some short timeframe for something even newer.

I use Nova Prime and in the settings for the activity key I have my short push set to the Nova app and it unlocks the phone by bypassing the lockscreen

How is that any different then simply having no pin/passcode to begin with then. Wouldn't that completely bypass any security features at all, all the time? so why bother with a pin code?

Well I don't bother with a pin code, never have. This is just 1 of many things that it can be used for . I never said that it was a substitute for the scanner, just that I had it set up to open to the home screen.. Sorry for the confusion.

I started loading up my Scan Disc 64 gig otg flash drive USB 3.0 today and just tried out my Sennheiser Momentum IEM's and just about fainted.

Even though I still need about 24 hours of burn in time with them, I am floored by how fantastic these monitors sound on the Active. I am using Power Amp Pro and was just using the classical preset and the sound stage is the best I have ever heard from any smartphone. The highs are impressive with the mids being super clear and the bass kick is kicking in your chest without over powering anything.

I will be able to get a good 25 gigs of music and 5 full Blue Ray movies on here in the next couple days and still leave space for other things.

I got my Supershieldz glass screen protector on today as well. It fits really nice and doesn't interfere with the buttons or the screen at all. It's a great $6.99 investment off of Amazon.

Does the S6A have a led notification light? Can the 'blink color' be configured for different people/apps?
