Are you happy with your s6 Active

One of the main reasons I don't like iPhone. It bores me silly. This time around it has the extra plus of being extremely slippery in the hand and unlike most, I hate using cases. The look was one of the few things I did like about the iPhone and now that's gone too. it looks like every other Android phone out there. I guess Samsung is more about function than form and iPhone just wants to look pretty.

Well at least the Active is more about function over form 😉

What is not to like.......

Waterproof, Great Screen, Great Battery, Qi Charging, Great Camera, Turbo Charging,........

The only gripe I have heard is about how it looks, okay person who has an iphone with an otterbox case on it.....really. Oh yes I should get the S6 and put a LifeProof case on it and have to charge it twice a day. Cman now, it looks like a rugged phone and that is what it is.

ditto ditto

So far so good here. I'm on day 2 with my new Active. I'm coming from my trusty Moto X2 (xt1097). There's a bit of a learning curve and I miss some of the Moto X features but I'm really liking the Active so far. One big plus for me is that I use my phone as GPS with Google Maps and I'm on a motorcycle a LOT. (American Legion Rider (Chaplain) and Patriot Guard Rider) Now when I'm riding and it starts raining, I don't have to pull over and wrap my phone in a plastic baggie, I can just keep on riding. The screen is gorgeous and the camera pics are AMAZING compared to the Moto X. I hate the rear speaker and that's really the only thing I don't like. I do miss the Moto Voice feature and the Google and S Voice pale in comparison but I'll learn to live without them.

I'm extremely happy so far!

Just joined the S6 Active club today...my s6 edge was a bit too delicate and after shattering, decided to go rugged with the active and an otter box!

I am! Runs flawlessly, which is surprising to say the least. Cameras are beautiful, design is well within my taste and that battery life... omg I get so much time out of my phone.

My only complaint! Why did they loose the port covers... I mean...sure, they are sealed, that's awesome, but I need something to resist dust and dirt that always finds its way into my ports...

So, anyone have some advice for me? Need a case with dust covers, but it has to be thin enough to allow wireless charging (since I'm all about the longevity of my ports and don't even plug this thing in for charging). A basic cheap 2 part case will work, but I don't want to order something and find out it's not small enough. Please help :)

They have amazing cases. I have the Unicorn Beetle Pro on my LG G3 and I will be buying one for my HTC One M8 that I've won in a YouTube contest when I receive it. I hope this helps. There quality matches that of the Otter Box series.

They also pop out far to easily :/ I lost 3 in 2 days and that was just being pulled from a pocket.

I looked at the SUPERCASE. I really like it, but the reviews say that it's to thick for wirless charging.

That sucks. Maybe look up some videos of the case and see how or if wireless charging does work with the case on.

You can't beat this, 20x Silicone 3 5mm Micro USB Cell Phone Port Plug Cover Cap Anti Dust Protector | eBay, they fit perfectly and look great, and for $1.99, nothing to lose.

Well, in 3 days I've had my covers, I haven't lost any of them, but with 20 in the package I bought, I'm not worry about it. I think that if you use those covers without any cover then the direct contact may set them loose, but I have a casemate bumper case, the bumper cover blocks the direct access to them so that may be a reason why I still haven't lost any of them.

I get a ton of people who ask me what phone I have, something that normally doesn't happen too often.

It's pretty nice coming home from work, using the phone a lot and still have 80% charge left.

Google maps sure do drain it fast when left on for a few hours though. I am still happy with mine over 2 months in with no lag with it.

I really don't have anything to complain about with it. I guess I got lucky this time around.....lol

So far I am.

I had forgotten just how nice it was to have the physical buttons again.. On my g4 I had the bottom buttons set to hide, but even with that I still see more of the list of forums with my Active..

The camera takes some fine pictures and video and the battery is pretty awesome to without worrying about the phone dying, and it does charge fast.

Agreed. I have a Qi charger on my desk and nightstand now, and I've never gotten below 75%.

The physical buttons... I've always been Samsung since I left Blackberry, so I'm used to the home button... I'm not adjusted to hard pressing the back button yet, but I like that I can figure out where it is, since I'd miss the capacitive button on my S4 so much.

For all the people who may have tried the S6 before getting the Active, do you miss not having the fingerprint sensor? I tried out my sister's S6 and using fingerprint to bypass the lockscreen seems really useful

Why not just set up trusted locations/bluetooth/wifi when you're at home or work?

I leave my lock screen on at work, but it auto disables at home, in my car via bluetooth or whenever my bluetooth headphones are on.

The only bad thing anyone has said about it is that it is only available on AT&T... so the sooner Samsung gets it on other carriers and in the European market the better it will sell.

That isn't Samsung's choice. The other carriers rejected it.

Verizon didn't have the S5 active either.

I think it is a remnant of the original Motorola "Droid" branding campaign. Verizon signed an exclusive deal with them to market "Droid" the same way they found so much success with Razr flip phone line. However, times were a changing and that deal turned out to be terrible for Verizon.

Anyway, part of the deal was to add a delay from the time when any non-Moto phone came out, and when Verizon would first start carrying it. It also meant that Verizon couldn't carry many non-flagship phones.

How is everyone dealing with the lag? I have the s6 active and its so laggy. I picked up the nexus while I wait for updates that fix this broken phone with an amazing camera (if it's still pics)

I don't have any lag so there's no "dealing" with it. I know some people are experiencing a lot of lag on the Active and the regular S6, but I haven't. I had the S6 but dumped it for the Active because the S6 battery ummmm... Let's just say it left a lot to be desired.
