AT&T: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I preordered on Friday, as a new customer, and remembered that she didn't ask me which freebies I wanted, so I called back today. The girl told me that was ONLY available through Samsung.
So I said, can I still sign on as a new customer, trade in my phone for the discount, and have ATT pay off my phone?
She said yes, but I would not get the taxes they 'didn't' charge me for back, because even though they don't charge for items you don't have taxes are non refundable....

When I pre-ordered the Note7 last year I didn't take the free offers from AT&T. You can use the information off of your phone box & receipt to show Samsung proof of purchase & then get free items you want. Well at least they did that last year.

I swore id bevery pre order through best buy again and I didn't. That was a huge hassle with the return and then return again. Not to mention they didn't call me to pick up my N7 till the day after the release when everyone else already had theirs and people were walking into best buy getting one without a preorder. In the end they made it right and i don't lose my upgrade and i received all the bill credits with ATT about it took lots of self advocacy with the best buy manager and ATT to get it that way.

Oh, I'm not pre-ordering the Note8 yet. I just don't want to wait till at least December when my S7 Edge can't be traded in with the Next program. Since we can't get the Samsung $425 credit through AT&T, we should at least be able to get out of out of our Next contract. Should have just held onto the 2nd Note7 & store in my fire box. Although both Note 7s never even got warm.

I'm an existing Customer and I was on "My AT&T" Saturday, and they showed the same goodies as Samsung! Pre-order or Purchase when they arrive - 128GB SD Card and Wireless Charger OR 360 Camera! I am overdue for an upgrade on my line - I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not?

The free goodies are via Samsung regardless of where you buy, pre-order. the only people who will get their charger/sd card with the phone are people who pre ordered through Samsung directly. everyone else will have to file a claim with Samsung to get your freebies. doesn't matter if you're upgrading, new customer or buy out of contract.

In fact, I defended it by saying that the pre-order didn't have anything to do with the recall whether you pre-ordered or bought it on day one or even the first few weeks.

I love pre-ordering. It makes it so I don't have to go to a stupid store and wait in line for 6 elderly couples to ask to be taught how to send a "text email".

I pre-ordered on the evening on the 24th and got a shipping date of 9/12 and people ordering today are getting the same date? That’s very unusual isn’t it? It seems like after 2-3 days we start seeing shipping delays. I wonder if this means that the Note isn’t selling quite as many as expected?

Yes because both UPS and FedEx honor that day. AT&T will generate the shipping label but the phones won't go out until 9/5. Earliest delivery would be 9/6.

Of course we could also always hope they get them out early on 9/3 but that's wishful thinking. Lol

LOL Yep I was looking it up too today as mine said will ship on 9/4 and then I saw that it is a fedex holiday too.
