AT&T: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Anyone getting any credit card charges or changes in status of orders yet? Noticed folks in t-mobile thread are getting shipment info. If I remember correctly last year when note 7 came out t-mobile shipped first.

Mine states "In Progress" with no ship date. My credit card WAS showing a pending transaction for phone and taxes. It now shows no pending transaction or regular transaction but the moneys are still being held(weird).

I just did the online chat with ATT to check on my order. This is the answer I got...

"Right now everything in the order is fine, for the case for all the customers that completed the pre-order for the Note 8 we will start to send the devices on Sept 15th you will receive an email with the tracking number once we send it."

I ordered mine the minute the preorder came available.

Their response would suggest that the chat rep really had no info (usually a mass pre-order like this the product is shipped with the intent that it will arrive to the customer on release day) that would suck if they did not actually ship until the 15th.

The chat people probably don't know much. Mine had said estimated shipping date 9/4. Now that is gone and still says in progress. I expect it will ship before 9/15

I placed my order the day pre orders became available and it originally said Sept 5th

Now there is no date but it says

In progress

We're working on your order, and we'll let you know once it's ready.

For what it's worth, I ordered mine minutes after pre-order's opened, and the email I got said shipping by 9/5/17 and on AT&T's website it says "Preparing to Ship" and the estimated ship date is 9/4/17.

When I pre-ordered the Note7 last year I didn't take the free offers from AT&T. You can use the information off of your phone box & receipt to show Samsung proof of purchase & then get free items you want. Well at least they did that last year.

Ahhhh, it's worth a try...

Same here. The pending charge that was showing on my card is not there, but the available credit clearly reflects the moneys are being held

Hopefully, by this time next week, we shall have our new Note8s tweaked and working as we want and joyfully and appreciatively text and call and calendarize and photograph to our hearts' content

I have done multiple preorders and the ship date means nothing. They usually will start giving out tracking numbers around then but the items usually will not ship until one or two days before the street date. What usually happens is they prepare them then they go to the shipper in containers but sit until then. Usually the only people that receive theirs early are T-Mobile customers.

My order shows "preparing to ship" This actually means nothing beyond
(your order is in our system and valid but we are not ready to do anything with it yet)

Love the wait... Not funny how we go thru this with every major release (almost identical threads/posts in N7 forum last year)

Went to my AT&T Store this afternoon, walked in, walked over to the Note 8 (smitten) and played around with it for about ten minutes (bitten)!

The Note 8s will be in store on September 15th so I made an appointment for 10:00 AM on the 15th (that's when they open) to avoid the lines (if any). I did the same thing when the Note 7s arrived last year - there were about eight people at the door in front of me. The Manager said "First, I have an appointment - is Jim D here?" - that was so cool! Got my phone and was out the door!

I love Note time. Once the 1st person sees any movement whatsoever, IT'S ON! From partial order to just order or from waiting to ship to proof it's been picked up; tensions flare and speculation abounds. I love it.

Meanwhile, I watch the forums and reviews. When I stroll in on release day and sit down with my AT&T guy, all is right in the world. No stress, no refresh. Just a shiny new Note!

Same here... Order date 8/26, estimated shipping date is now 9/11. Status changed from "In Progress" to "preparing to ship"

Now that Verizon preorders are getting to customers on 9/5. I bet AT&T orders will be shipped out Tuesday now.
