AT&T HTC One 4.3 update is live! (Discussion Thread)

I have tried every trick mentioned in this thread but my HTC One just will not receive the update. Have tried the date trick days or months ahead, with WiFi, without WiFi, is there a way to get this installed manually without having to do an OTA?

Where did you find that image? The icon in the top right corner looks like the leaked Sense 5.5 screenshots. My guess would be that actionable notifications will be included in that update but not this one.

On another thread. Maybe it's from Sense 5.5

Re: HTC 4.3 update is live!

Happened to me too. Downloaded through AT&T software updater, but software still shows 4.1.2. Anyone know why??

Re: HTC 4.3 update is live!

Same thing with me.
I had downloaded the 4.3 then it did the update after restarting, etc. When was finally able to check the phone, the firmware version stayed at 4.1.2. When I went to check the update I got the error message that it was up to date and had to wait 23 hours to check again. I have since then restarted it a few times and now when I check for the update it says "There are no updates available for your phone." I'm still at 4.1.2.

If it wasn't a 565.7MB download, then it wasn't the 4.3 update. There were two recent updates that you may have pulled instead (if you didn't already have them installed).

Forgive the n00b question I'm about to ask. I have an AT&T HTC One. I'm only using it on my home wifi and do not have an AT&T SIM card in the device. I'm planning on switching from iOS and wanted to get a feel for the HTC before making it my primary device. So here's my question. Can I get the recent AT&T update without having an AT&T SIM card in the phone? I've tried to update using only a wifi connection and it won't even show the update available. I'm guessing I need to have a connection to the AT&T network before my phone sees the update.

All advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I can't speak for an AT&T device without a SIM but I have a Sprint EVO 4G LTE that is no longer connected to the Sprint network that I use on WiFi at home and it received an update last night just as I was pulling the update on my AT&T HTC One! While I wasn't worried about not getting the update for the Sprint phone I was happy to know that it updated without needing to be on the Sprint network. I don't know if this speaks directly to an AT&T device without a SIM though as Sprint is a CDMA network and their phones do not require SIM cards.

I removed the nano sim from my iPhone 5 and managed to correctly position it on the HTC One micro sim tray and confirmed that I'm connected to AT&T network. Tried getting the update and still nothing. Even tried to set the date ahead and that didn't work either. I'm out of ideas at this point. But I'm still loving the new device.

I've got an at& t branded HTC one that is unlocked.I'm currently not in the united states. Can I still receive the 4.3 update?

Try going back to Settings>ATT Updates.... instead of "check for updates" it may say "continue with update". Press and go

Yeah, you do need that SIM. Carrier updates are most common for updating and veratification. AT&T sent the 4.3, from HTC(who got it from Google), through their "wash cycle". Costs money to brand the work of art and test it, not to mention the costs of your discount on the phone. Cell phone companies want to know your paying the bills, in order to make them more money, and so on. In other words, active AT&T SIM card = the goods from AT&T.

FYI: If you haven't noticed, long press of home button for menu (if it's active in settings), won't work on app with the "menu" icon (the box with four or five lines, linked to a side menu). It will work only for apps with the "options" icon (the three vertical dots, built in by the app, or from HTC on the black bars).

Im but hurt :( my one x plus isnt getting anything and my update was released before the ones grrr damn you at&t

Looks like the browser (main; built in), only allows up to 6 pages open at a time. Deletes the oldest one at the same time a new one is added.

Disable it and use chrome same browser base since 4.1 and chrome gets updated as the version in the rom doesn't
