AT&T Note 7 Recall Thread

Why does every store have different info? Some are swapping already. Others saying not till 21st, or 23rd or whenever. I went to two this weekend within walking distance (both corporate stores) and they had two different stories: one said it won't be for two weeks, the other said starting possibly today, but they hadn't received them yet as of yesterday.

The store the i originally swapped my N7 for an S7E at claimed to have no knowledge of new stock and suggested it may be months. Yet I then called a store 10 miles away and just now got my new N7.

I'm at the Garden State Mall in Paramus NJ and thougjt I'd drop by the ATT store to ask for the heck of it and OMG they have the new Note 7 in yay

All colors so I'm grabbing another Blue Coral yay !!

At the store to get my phone. Watch the news in case they won't give me my phone. I'm going to windmill every employee . Lol

FYI to all those who bought on ATT Next ....they won't refund you the payment you made (assuming you bought the device in August) and your upgrade clock starts from today ....totally scummy move IMO

They told you to come in and switch phones. You chose to keep your old one...so you pay the bill. I don't see anything wrong with that. I switched to an s7 edge. Timing on my billing cycle was that I paid nothing for my Note, and 1 payment on the s7 edge, that I don't expect back. That's life.

This doesn't sound right at all. So you're saying they are making you pay full price plus the payments you've already made on the N7? I could see this for a loaner but not for someone who held onto their recalled N7. I guess I should be glad that I returned my N7 for a full refund and went back to my N4.

Just called the 2 corporate stores closest to me. The first said they should have them in tomorrow or wednesday. The other said wednesday. I asked the second guy about what is needed for the return (i.e. box, cable, etc.). He said they would do a direct swap for each item returned.

Any payment you made should be deducted from the device cost. If they reset your ATT Next date, you will have your device paid off 1 month early at the end of your term. When I exchange mine I will be sure to check .

Please name any other retailer where if you go exchange a device (especially when you're exchanging it because of a manufacturing fault and not just because you changed your mind) you have to pay extra for the time you had it with you. Had the recall not happened I would have never had to pay anything extra. The payment you made on the s7 should be refunded as well. Its not our problem the device had a defect, why should we pay more? This brings the total cost of the device up by 1 payment ($36.25 if you did it on Next 24) ...they should be extending discounts to us not shafting us for an additional payment.

They returned my first payment when I returned my launch day note 7

I'm not sure I understand. If I'm giving them my old Note for a new one which is an even exchange, why should anything change on my bill or with my plan?

That's exactly my point ..nothing should change. The response I got was "our system isn't smart enough to handle the recall and this is how we have to do it" ...they are pretty much pocketing at least 1 month's worth of installment payments.

I tried posting around 3 pm today but Android Central was down...on my end neways. This AM my AT&T didn't have any in stock but this afternoon as I was leaving the gym my AT&T guy texted me they were in. It was a VERY simple process. I came in gave them loander S7E..I forgot the charging cable...they didn't care. I paid the $5 difference in tax between the 2 phones and that was it. They also put a new screen saver on. It was great and easy process. I have the Coral or as I like to call it Carolina Blue Note 7. I am in Bowie, MD...just outside of DC.

I am interested in hearing from some that received there new Note replacement.
How are we to verify they are replacement ones?
Some are saying nothing on box or phone indicating they are.

Just called my local ATT corporate store here in Jersey and they say they have plenty in stock in all colors... I will be heading there tomorrow for my replacement

Local stores here are still saying they have no confirmation the phones have even been shipped.
I guess I will be going in before work and wasting 2 hours yet again.
