Attempting root tomorrow

i clicked on roms, then found JTs, then the next step has options of kernels:non voodoo, kernals:voodoo , super clean rom, themes etc

I should chose super clean rom?

what are the kernels?

After you get JT's Super Clean you'll be much happier because you'll have a debloated and deblinged snappier responding phone.

From there you can leave it as be if your happy.. or if you want to reduce lag further you can install a kernel. There is JT kernel 11/13 I think its called thru ROM Manager also.

Ya Super Clean and I recomend staying away from voodoo. Its a pain in the arse and we have kernels that are faster then it now.

i would like to instal the lag more i assume? do i instal that the same way i did the super clean rom?

when i selected the super clean rom, i have the choice of many themes.. idk what they look like.. can i go back and pick a theme at a later time if i chose stock?

You really need to slow down, because you're headed for a brick wall. Just install Super Clean ROM and stop. There's no need to install any lag fix because most of the lag issues will be solved by the clean rom. There's no need to replace your kernel at this point.

ok chris thank you. can you look at my theme question?

if i chose stock can i go back and pick on of the other themes later?

+ 1

Ya just install Super Clean ROM choose Fascinate from the list, no voodoo, and i personally didnt use any of the check marks from the list for swapping puzzle pieces and bln, etc. you can add that stuff after the fact anyhow

after installing the rom
my two options are backup existing rom and wipe date and cache....

what ones?

You don't get that option to backup or wipe data/cache after you install a rom, you get it before... so I'm not sure where you are at this point.

It sounds like you've just downloaded the rom. Did you do a backup? You mentioned that you think you did... either you did, or you didn't... you should know. Backing up reboots your phone into recovery, where it spends 2 to 3 minutes copying files. Did this happen?

If so, you don't need to backup (because you already did). You don't *have* to wipe data, but it's not a bad idea.

its all done!!! thanks so smuch for the help everyone, especially chris!

this website has been so much help and im so grateful
