use the link i gave in the OP

i think autounroot is fine, you said you had already done it once successfully right

Success! I didn't do the unroot linked to because after hours of trying to install adb, I gave up and started your autoroot M1, beginning with option 2. Perfect: root, busybox, can boot into recovery, it's got it all. Thank you!

I dont have the TB anymore so i can not test it so im not sure but it should work downgrading you back to MR1....but dont hold me to that

thanks, it worked, back to mr1. will wait for a mr2 rom that supports skype, hopefully it will come soon.

Worked flawlessly thanks to everybody who created this. Was nervous about rooting read and read articles but took a chance now time to remove Verizon bloatware

So I have been going at this for a couple days. Did all the search things and get to many different answers. First thing after ever process I get a.......adb server is out of date. killing..*daemon started successfully*. Everthing seems to be running alright, but then it gets to the same point everytime and i get.......misc.img downgrade checksum error and it tells me to disconnect pull the battery and start over. What am I doing wrong?

same error here as well.. I am downloading again and going to check md5sum to make sure its correct. I am searching as well for an answer...Sure its in here somewhere

When I go to run the auto root program the serial number of my phone does not show up and I cannot run the program. It asks if it is my first time rooting this phone I select yes, it asks me to start from the beginning or after downgrade I select 1 to start from beginning.

It then pops up and says the serial number of your device should be shown press any key to continue, my serial number is not coming up. I installed everything from the HTC sync link that was posted and I had a successful download of the auto root file. I extracted it all to my desktop. I dont know why but it is not working I am gonna try it again.

Oh by the way I do have debugging on and stay awake on and also charge only

I had to use a different pc, obviously my bolt liked the older one lol. I got it to work no problem

it took a few hours, but I found the answer. All you have to do is right-click and Exit the "HTC Sync" in the right corner of your windows desktop (by the clock) BEFORE starting the "one click" root application.

That simple. good Luck.

I went through this and it took the first down grade... and allowed me to press volume up and it went through the downgrade. After it rebooted into Sense, I went through the next steps and it kicked back into hboot and searched for an image and had the errors like normal but never found the image to update to. It just went through the errors and then HBOOT came up and it went back to the HBOOT main menu.

Any suggestions? I tried starting over and reconnecting the phone and pressed 2 but it went through the same thing and eventually took me back to the main menu for HBOOT.

Could it be a memory card issue? Even though it took the first step without any issue?

I went through this before with the 32 gb card i was given with the Tbolt but it went corrupt the other day. So I slapped in my 16gb card. It's odd though because it allowed me to downgrade but when it kicked back into HBOOT it couldn't find the image, even though it's on the card.

Now I can't software update, 'Service unavailable, please try again when service is available...' etc... even though I'm in LTE service.

Software Number: 1.03.605.10 is what it's showing.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I couldn't even unroot with the 2 images, it wouldn't take the image on the memory card in HBOOT either.

EDIT: Nevermind. It was the memory card. Frustrating... but glad it was that simple.

Not sure if this is your problem, but 2 things -
make sure the pg05img.zip is named that and not pg05img.zip.zip (sometimes pc's hide the file extensions so you get them there twice)
and make sure sd card is formatted FAT32

did you start over from opion 1 or opion 2

So this should still be working for those on the 1.16 baseband then? Will we be able to install the mr2 later and have it be stable using this root method?
