Change your wallpaper to something dark or solid black. It'll switch you to a dark theme

I know that. I meant like the settings windows, google feed, google assistant etc. I wish google had that option for a true dark mode.

It's been over 24 hours since my phone was last plugged in, and it's down to 59% with moderate use. (And a bit cool to the touch.)

definitely noticed a drop in battery life..... have not noticed a warming issue though.
I'm a very light user (text, email, some web surfing).... before the update, I would have approx 75% life remaining when I would leave work (using WiFi from work).. past few days the battery life is about 55-60%
also noticed that it would loose about 5% just sitting in the stand-by (about 1 hour of inactive use)... would maybe drop 1% in stand-by previously...
checked me settings, no changes made...
no new apps etc..???
have to wait and see..

I'm on 40%, last full charge was 4 hours 46 mins ago, screen on time 20 minutes!
It's been on airplane mode for almost half that time as I was working!

This needs fixing asap!

That's pretty disastrous.

Obvious questions:

Have you restarted your device to see if that helps?

Have you taken a look at your battery settings page to see what app and system utilization looks like?

If you're intensely curious, you can grab a bugreport and send it to Battery Historian. This is not a trivial effort but shows pretty deep stats that can be potentially helpful when troubleshootinig battery drain issues:

I used this tool awhile back and found Accuweather was abusing my Bluetooth scanning location service and causing drain.

I was at work and didn't have time to investigate but switched it off and recharged, seems to have gone back to normal now

Some of us use Tapatalk.... that is why we see different stuff.
