Battery life since Feb 5 update

I was at work and didn't have time to investigate but switched it off and recharged, seems to have gone back to normal now

Good deal, glad it's resolved. It seems like another false "update causing battery drain" report.

The Android Central forum profile is a lot less useful than I thought it was.

People just don't remember to update. They set it up upon registering then forget about it since it isn't a big thing on the board :).

For me, I used to have about 4-6 sot B4 February update.
Now about 3-4.
Google just MUST fix this ASAP.

Just for you I've gone in and updated my profile, at least, the part of it concerning devices.
FWIW my previous device was a Nexus 6P, which I still have in case disaster strikes. It was starting to shut off randomly at greater than 15% remaining and I couldn't trust it for work anymore. I did get a refurbished LG V20 that was supposed to replace it but OS and security updates were so slow that, when I saw the holiday deal at Target ($250 gift card along with the $300 Verizon billing credit) I decided to upgrade. Still loving my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet although I do kick myself for not getting an nVidia Shield K1 before they went out of production.

Or they've been using Tapatalk for years and it doesn't manage all of that detail so they don't bother with it.

True -- just saying people don't remember to update it even if they do use desktop. I am guilty of this myself and I have been here for years. Only when I go into the profile for something else do I see it and go "Oh yeah...." ^_^

Aw shucks! :)

Not so shabby after the Feb update. I'd consider this heavy usage. Navigation, YouTube, 2 hours of gaming and some chats.

It doesn't get warm too. I did the OTA without installing the Google Play Services beta. Mine is still version 11.

I'm guessing for those who used the beta version to get the OTA probably had bad battery life or warm phones.

My battery not only has been draining at lighting speed, charging time is ridiculous, 6 hours of charging for 50% battery. I have optimized the usage and shut all unnecessary background apps off. Please Google, help!

Have you tried the app in the store "Gservice Fix" ? It's an older app but it has helped some including me with regaining proper battery life. I tried a factory reset to no avail but then ran the app 3 nights in a row after charging to 100% and saw good results. Then had great battery for awhile, maybe a couple of months then it returned to poor again and I reran the app and it went back to normal. Not saying it helps everyone but it is certainly worth a shot. Follow the directions exactly, rerun as needed and good luck

Kristine, you have something seriously wrong! My Pixel 2 XL can charge from depleted to 100% in a little over an hour! With an average of 4 to 5 hours of screen time I can easily get through a work day. I pay no attention to optimizing my usage or shutting off any apps. I'm most comfortable with my brightness set at about 50%. Are you using the Google supplied charger? That's the only charger I've ever used.

Definitely draining faster. From full charge at 5:30 PM until now - 3 hours later - it has dropped to 88 percent in standby only. This is not normal compared to previous months but has been pretty much the story all this month. No apps ever seem to be specific culprits...

My phone has been horrible. I have a Pixel 2 and my battery is at 35%, last charge 8 hrs and 19 min ago and my screen usage has only been 1h and 33 min

Wow, I have been really lucky. My battery life has been great. Probably averaging 5-6 SOT time, have bluetooth and Wifi on all day, with wifi not connect while at work. Current going on 14 hours and 40 mins since last full charge and I'm at 54% with 2.5 SOT.
