Battery life sucks as a Samsung usual

These forum's are a place for like minded people, phone enthusiasts if you will, to discuss the good and the bad about their new and old devices.

Sure the op sounds a little perturbed, I would be with that battery life.

Much easier to offer advice, how to tips or post statistics showing the other side of the coin. People are so quick to be critical.

Still pre official launch.

Samsung/tmobile may already have a patch in the works.

Or they may not ..If it wasn't ready they shouldn't have shipped it ..So tomorrow's Att's are all pre launch also I guess..you guy's are funny.

Don't be naive.... We are referring to Samsung official launch date.

Only Apple has control over the carriers.

So they should delay the launch of the M9 because of the issues with the 810? Or they should delay all Lollipop updates until they fix the cell standby/battery issues? The OP apparently has a history of bashing Samsung devices, basically said he knew it would be "crap", and decided to be an early adopter anyways. Solid idea.

Good things about the phone=Discussing
Bad things about the phone= Complaining

People buy devices at launch because they desperately want a new phone or because they can. People just sit here in the forums waiting to discredit someone's valid issues.

I have read reports its a T-Mobile issue, I have read reports its all over the place, I have read posts from non T-Mo customers saying they are on Wi-Fi for 4 hours with 1% battery use. So its subjective to each person, their location to the cell towers etc. Perhaps start with a factory reset out of the box, who knows its a placebo but it can't hurt either.

I would agree to some point on your post but not entirely. I have seen many Android sites where users post nothing but negative comments and never used the device, others post comments after doing things to their phones they either don't have the knowledge about (rooting) or the ability to comprehend what they are doing. Errant apps can also be an issue. Unless you have say 10 users in the same spot on different carriers all will get different results, even 10 users with the same carrier will get different results.

These are mass produced items, nothing is perfect, even the apple products are not perfect.

Oh yeah, because the OP is a great example of someone who's trying to be reasonable about his complaints. Everyone admits there's a WiFi bug that's either exclusive to T-Mobile or it isn't. When you're trying to push a narrative that the battery life on the S6 is abysmal in general (it isn't) because your experience sucks, expect to be corrected so other people looking to buy the phone don't get discouraged. Also expect to be reminded you're in the minority. Also expect to be reminded you're an early adopter and these battery issues, even with cell standby, aren't exclusive to the S6.

If you're reasonable about it? Expect to get a lot of suggestions to try and help.

Having email sync on was draining my battery very quickly. Turning it off to manual only is now giving me amazing battery life.

Thanks for proving my original point.

All I proved was that the OP is just complaining for the sake of complaining and that while some people are having bad experiences, crying about it instead of trying to troubleshoot isn't the answer.

Wait a minute, so now folks shouldn't buy products until they are in stores? Lol, people and their love for a company

No, but people should hold off on slamming a company until the product is officially released. You are essentially a beta tester right now. It's good to be vocal about your issues so that they can get fixed, but I'd hold off on slamming the phone and company until the phone is released. Plus, people on AT&T have received their devices today and they don't appear to be having the same standby issues that you are having. Start slamming T Mobile instead.

Every review out there, save for 1 or 2: "The S6 is extremely fast and fluid. No slowdowns at all. It's blazing fast. Battery isn't terrible, but you won't get more than a day.

And then there's you, saying it lags, the battery is terrible, and that Samsung won't fix it. Gotcha.

who said that?

whether or not Samsung, or any other phone manufacturer should do better test runs before launch and make the necessary adjustments, is a different debate. but to say, this phone costs $800 so this time there should be nothing wrong with it, is just being naive.

nobody said don't preorder the phone, but what has been said is if you do buy a phone prelaunch, expect there to be issues that need a month or two before things run smooth.

of course if you want to buy a phone when it drops, that's yours or anyone else's prerogative. but I could've told you two things that don't take an expert to figure out. one, a phone this powerful with a 2500 mAh battery isn't gonna have the best battery life. two, you're gonna have other issues that will certainly be discussed on these forums and will take some time before they're fixed.

that was the case 5 years ago, and that'll most likely be the case 5 years from now, even if do spend $800.

My opinions on the battery are mixed. I have the tmobile model and just got the att one today. For most of the week I had pretty average to below average battery life with the cell standby issue. Nothing rid my phone of the standby problem.

On day 5 I decided to do a master reset and start over. I got much better battery life after the reset. Something in the range of 4+ hours screen time. And the phone lasted close to 18 to 20 hours. For me I can live with that.

As for as the att model there are differences. There is no cell standby issue. It doesn't even show up on the usage list. It is day one on this att variant so I'll hold off any other opinion.

As I mentioned in another thread the screen on the tmobile model is noticeably brighter than the att one with the same settings.

It isn't a love for a company or anything like that. You started a thread with comments about how you hate Samsung. Yet you bought a Samsung phone....

There is a big difference between complaining and discussing issues that you have found. Do you think this is the first electronics product that has had issues on launch? You bought a phone knowing that there was the possibility that there may be problems with battery life. It happens with cars, it happens with phones, it happens with game consoles. Brand new products, regardless of the amount of testing they recieve prior to their release almost always have some kind of problem.

Why have you not swapped your phone out is the real question. Get a new one and see if there is a difference. If you don't want a new one then get a different phone. I'm sure Apple would love to have your business.
