Battery Life Thread

can everyone that is getting 8+ hours please show your apps list and a graph. I was at 60% yesterday with 1 hour of sot.

I was getting odd battery life yesterday. It turns out gBoard was screwing something up. So I forced stopped it, and it leveled out the battery. I'm getting anywhere from 5-7hrs of SoT. If I'm on WiFi this phone sips battery. If I'm on LTE, it's a bit thirstier.

With what brightness level? With AOD on or off? With "now playing" on or off?

I got EXTREMELY good battery life on my first full day of use.

I should say though that I don't spend a lot of time watching videos, or anything like that, I usually have 1 hour of SOT or less a day. But I have Now Playing turned on, and the Ambient display is on.

I've charged it overnight, so I can't post a graph now, but I'll try to remember to post one tonight after work.

I'm scratching my head think how do you find time to spend that long in a day on the phone.

Haha, ya, love it, I feel the same way sometimes when people complain about not getting 5 hours or so of screen on time . . I know everyones life is different, but if one is awake 16-17 hours a day and works a regular 8-9 hour work day, that leaves maybe 7-9 hours a day 'free', and if 5-7 hours of that is screen on time I guess may e the social 'critics' are right about smartphone addiction? . . Don't shoot me, I'm as bad as anyone else, but I guess I never thought about it that way before . . .
.
What I hate even more is how a battery drains when not in use, I have an LG G6 and I get good screen on time (5 hrs) but if I'm busy and don't use the phone much it's maddening to be down low at the end of the day and find some vague "phone idle" is using a large percentage . . .

I have everything enabled and I'm getting 7:30 SOT on avg through 3 full days of use.

I keep brightness around 24-30% sometimes I tweak it. Aod off, I found the feature to be more annoying than anything else really. I leave now playing on. I still get phenomenal battery life.

So now playing might not be the problem. I'll be running today with both off. Then tomorrow with just now playing on. I really like it because it sends a notification to my watch.

To all the folks with these great battery life days .. Do you have the AOD and the "Now Playing" music thing enabled?

Yes. I have both on at all times and wifi most of the day and Bluetooth turned on all day syncing to my Fitbit or headphones/car. I have adaptive brightness turned on as well.

Thanks. You got 5.5 hours SOT with all that on, nice. What brightness?

Seeing a lot of good SOT, but I'm wondering if they are for the pixel or pixel XL. This thread is a mix, right? Ordered the normal pixel 2. Hoping I see these 6 and 7 hour times I THINK others are reporting.

Pixel 2... I was trying to "condition" my battery and let my phone play Seinfeld on Hulu continuously..
I see that it stopped on Season 3 Episode 2... However, I got impatient at some point and turned the flashlight on after about 6 hours to help drain the battery...

Out of the box my battery was at around 70 percent. I was able to get 4 hours screen time out of that.. That's pretty awesome.

Gross, conditioning should be avoided if at all possible. That's a method that hasn't been advisable for at least 8 years.
