BATTERY SUCKS AFTER FROYO UPDATE !!!

Same here with the stock battery. I bought one of those nop name Chinese 1800mah ones. Which should have given me another hour or so. I ended up with almost 3x longer life. I can go all day, then leave if on my desk, then be at 30% battery in the morning. The stock battery, 6 hours. I was always near a charger. USB or wall.

Evo is Evil, and I love it

I have the Seidio 1750 mAh battery as a back up and after a month of switching back and forth between the stock and Seidio my battery life is almost identical. No two days are exactly the same so from my test my life was almost spot on between the stock 1500 and the after market 1750....

But I average 16 hours on a single charge and still have about 20 - 40% remaining depending on my use for that day...

My battery sucks a big one now. WTH !!! Not that it was that good to begin with but geez.... 3 hrs and im down to 50 % hour later and dead phone. Not happy at all.

ive been using mine off the charger since 8:30am and im still good to go.. Must be something wrong with your battery

I feel your pain! Same here. Just yesterday got 26 hours without a charge and alot of texting, a little browsing, email, Facebook and talk time. Now i updated charged fully lost 10% in a half hour while texting, looking through the updates. Didn't use it from 2am on. Woke up and was almost dead without any useage. IDG what is wrong all of a sudden.

It's going to suck for the first few days or so until Android learns what it needs to open and run again.

If you go to the "Running Services" you'll see that just about every app is now in this list (whereas in 2.1, it was just essentials). Give it a few days and battery life will slowly increase to 2.1 levels as Android (Linux Kernel) learns what it needs to do again...

Mines been off charger for 6.5 hours with some casual use...a couple emails , text , 40min of web browsing and play- click icon here & there to open up apps.
My Battery's at 72% which is a little better then 2.1 maybe 15% save.
I'm still losing 10% pretty fast right after full charge so im going to start bump charging again

It looks like it sucks, but it doesn't. It just needs to re-establish the battery stats to properly show the right information. Just like when you first got your EVO.

After the froyo, majority of the update schedule goes back to default. Default equals battery suckage...

Go back and change the update schedules for google talk, news, facebook, facebook for sense, sprint zones, stocks etc... Also, check your accounts and sync in settings to see if there is anything enabled that you do not need.

You should notice better battery life.

Check your awake time and Up time under your battery status. If they are the same then you have an app that is not working properly with 2.2. Alot of users have reported this. One major app that has been causing this is LED light. If you cannot figure out which app is causing your battery issue try a hard reset and installing them again one by one. The LED light app was my issue and once I uninstalled it all was good. No battery problems here.

That's what im thinking to. My 9630 reacted same way after rom updates. It took a couple full charges for battery life to improve.

For those having issue that didn't hard boot after 2.2 install I would let battery completely discharge device cuts off then full charge.
Do that a couple times and you should be back on track...a better one

Also check your google voice setting if you have it because the update reset them all...

+1, this is probably what the majority of people's battery issues are. Add the Power Control Widget on a screen and turn off the Sync. You'll probably see battery life improve dramatically. It's all those services you need to turn back to manual cause they are on auto after you update.

Your battery life does not suck. It's simply Battery Stats. Give it time. Mine is exactly the same as it was before (although I wiped battery stats when loading ROM).

Make sure your settings are as you had them before. As many people have posted some of the sync settings went back to default. I personally haven't had any battery issues after the update.

Stocks were turned back on to autosync. (Q)Talk was also set to Auto Sign In after the update.

I have all my settings changed back to the way they were before and still experiencing horrible battery life.

From my earlier post.....

Battery life is dismal compared to pre-update. All my sync settings are the same, I have checked multiple times. This is being discussed the Yay or Nay poll post also.

Edit: Took phone off charger at 7:00 am EST, currently at 33% battery life with MINIMAL usage (this post was at 11:27 am EST). Yesterday I took off charge at 7:00 am and kept if off until 10:30 p.m., battery was at 42%. Yesterday activity was several phone calls, 25 or so texts, 15-20 minutes web browsing (at least), and downloaded Froyo update over 3G and installed. Also played around with phone about an hour last night before charging to look for new Froyo features....

Edit #2: I have checked and rechecked my sync settings, they are the same or more restrictive than pre-update. Turned off the phone and did a battery pull as well, did not seem to help.

Edit#3: Did a factory reset and still no noticable improvement. Battery life is down to 10% at 4:30 (was at 60% at 1:00).

I am confused about the posts saying that Froyo just needs to reestablish the battery stats? So do I not really have 10% battery left? Thanks to all those posting, and sorry if I come across negative, just getting very frustrated..... Thanks.
