I decided to go through Best Buy because of a combination of rewards, gift cards, and Rakuten cash back.

Ordered an unlocked Green S22 Ultra, currently has a ready date of 4/1. Hoping it will be available sooner.

I just pre-ordered a black 512 one a limb (I didn't even know the pre-orders started today)...at least the 04/01 date gives me time to decide if I really want to keep it or not...I have been pretty underwhelmed by the Pixel 6 Pro (I don't hate it by any means but I guess I was expecting more?)...

I'm hoping its just a place holder date. I don't mind not getting it exactly on release date, but a month out is a pretty significant delay.

I just was curious my options with Best Buy and chatted with someone and he said all the 512'2 were sold out. But Hubby doesn't really want to upgrade and spend the money we have the 21 Ultra and would only use the pen more if we had the22 we do have the pen for the 21. But it looks like a nice phone and I love the new colors.

Originally, the product page for all the S22 Ultras said "Order now and we'll let you know when it will be ready.." for both shipping and instore pickup...

Now, the 128GB model says it is available on release day for both shipping and instore pickup in my area.

The 256GB has this message for shipping: "Order now and we'll notify you when it will be ready to ship after a Release Day is announced"

The 512GB model still has the "we'll let you know" message for both shipping and instore pickup...

I ordered through Best Buy on Feb 15th. Still no movement. Ordered the S22 Ultra in Green, 256gb. Hope I didn't screw up ordering through them and not TMobile.

Just spoke to a rep at BB. Said that they're awaiting inventory. So no telling when that'll be.

Any updates, I pre ordered through best buy for a T-Mobile variant, but I chose store pickup, never done best buy before, so do they allow early pickup?

Here lately Best buy,"s inventory comes in late or they don't get enough for pre orders. You have to have serious patience's dealing with them

I ended up pre-ordering through Best Buy for the $200 gift card after Samsung canceled my order. It says it'll be delivered by 2/25. What's the likelihood of that actually happening? I've never pre-ordered through Best Buy.

I was hoping to get my S22U early since I choose shipping but unfortunately I don’t think that’s gonna happen ??????

Should I be concerned that Best Buy USA has no release date penned for my pre-order? Called customer service and they had no idea when it would be shipped. See pic.

I used to work at Best Buy. They are horrible when it comes to pre-orders. They have no clue when they will have inventory and they normally “over pre-order” and then can’t honor all or most preorders on release day.

I know for sure, they be at the mercy of Ape when it comes to preordering iPhones.

Yea, after chatting with BB for 10-15 minutes, your comments are definitely legit. Representative informed me that my 256Gb Unlocked Phantom Black Ultra will be delivered around 2/28/22 since "release date was changed due to lack of inventory".

My status hasn’t changed yet, says will receive by release date. Yet nothing has changed. No preparing to ship or tracking number yet. Nothing. I’m starting to get worried.

It will not change until they actually pack the phone. The way best buy does it or at least did it when i worked there...is the closest store that had the phone, would receive an alert for an order to be picked and packed. If you ever go into a bestbuy and a worker walking with a scanner tool and putting items in a cart or holding items, that's most likely what he's doing.

Anyways, In our case the phone. Once the worker actually scans the device'upc and imei barcode thats on the box, the system then generates a shipping label. The phone then sits for about 5-10 minutes while the carrier activates the phone on their end.

If the phone is "unlocked" then the phone is just packaged up. While the phone sits awaiting activation, the customer receives info that the package has shipped or in some cases, your order is ready for pickup.

The issue with this when i worked there is that for one, best buy NEVER knows what their preorder inventory will be. Not only that but best buy used to and I'm sure still does, ship orders from the closest store to customer. They would ship from minnesota or other warehouses when stores dont have the item in stock.

With that said, "Best Buy stores" are not only getting preorders for in-store preorders pickups but online preorders that has to be shipped. Also there is a queue as well when orders/preorders are placed online. However the queue can only be seen in the system at the store or location that the phone is actually shipping from. So if your order is shipping out of a New York store and you call customer services to ask about the que, they wont be able to tell you how many orders is ahead of you etc.

Same with in-store preorders. In most cases, it was just a sign up sheet. They would skip over people all the time with that one.

That's a really strange way to do a pre-order. So my phone has to ship to a store first, then that store will ship it to me? I was told I'd have it on release day

Anyone hear anything on their Best Buy order? I checked the status of mine, it still says ready by April 1 :'(
