best buy pre-order

So you have done it after the vzw return window? I am a silver reward zone member, so I have 60 days actually.

I have and the return is on the equipment and not the service. You're locked into your contract after the 14 days. I picked up a maxx, but will return it when they get some s3's. I also have 60 days as a premier silver member.

I think thirty days is only if you pay full price at BB, since the subsidized price is linked directly in some way to VZW.

That is exactly why it DOES work from Best Buy. VZW's return policy is 14 days. BB's is 30. BB got my renewal approved by VZW and the man from BB said if I return my new phone, a Motorola RAZR, before 30 days, that's THEIR transction...not Verizon's.

Sure you can return the phone, but that doesn't mean the plan will stay the same. You are basically signing another contract when you do swap it out. Since it is now past the 28th the unlimited won't be an option.

I guess we'll see in a few days. I spoke with VZW and they offered to do the same thing with them directly, but cautioned me taht their return window is only 2 weeks as opposed to BB's 30 days.

I was told when I bought a Spectrum to lock my contract that I could exchange it without affecting my contract. I think the contract is separate from the hardware to BB. That's also probably why bb doesn't always have the same phones and price drops as vz stores do.

Not if it's after the 14 days. Best Buy's exchange policy is separate from the standard Verizon return policy. You're already locked into the contract after 14 days.

Any one heard from BestBuy when we getting our phones. Seems like atleast other retailers have dates of some kind. Verizon says pre orders ship starting 9th, HHgregg says july 12th. I pre ordered before any1 w/ verizon, June 5th. Can i expect to get a call from BB to pick up my phone next thursday? july 12? what you guys think? My bestbuy is clueless.

I'm at bb right now. The reps tell me this is one of the top busiest stores in the company therefore they'll have shipments before most others. The one lady I'm talking to tells me what she's been seeing is still the 9th and that as with most other big launches they release with the verizon launch. However they receive their phones in drop shipments directly from samsung meaning not on their regularly scheduled trucks. So it "could" come early. She did tell me that as soon as the shipment comes off the truck and is scanned it will automatically trigger your "ready to pick up email" even before the phones are brought onto the floor and most definitely before you get a call. she seemed to have some experience with this pre order shenanigans but let's just consider this speculation like all other..

I can't believe another Best Buy employee hasn't come forth with this. We received an internal memo on the 28th. I can tell you FOR A FACT, if you pre ordered the S III prior to June 28th you can keep your unlimited data. We have to call Verizon to have them manually add the Unlimited data back. (Our system will automatically switch you to a new plan.) In light of this news I have canceled my pre order with Verizon and will be picking up my pre order at my Best Buy store on.........we still don't know. :)

Razortaz, you're saying that you are a bb employee and have physically seen this memo? So what ate the exact steps to maintain unltd data?

Yes I am and yes I have. All the customer has to do is pre order prior to June 28th. When we do the upgrade our system will force you out of the unlimited data plan. We (the employee) will have to then call Verizon and have them manually re add the unlimited plan.

While I appreciate your optimism, and in no tone is this argumentative, but, I'm willing to bet that you have never tried this before given 1) this is the first time Verizon has ever taken away unlimited and switched to share plans and 2) no Verizon customers even have an effing phone. So is theory, what you say sounds peachy, but it's looking more like a sour apple. But I'll keep my fingers crossed, cause that sounds pretty sweet. And I'm pretty sure bb employees are going to say that it's not possible because that's going to be a sh!t ton of phone calls they'd have to make.

I have mine on order through BB, I will loose my unlimited since I ordered after the 28th. But after discussing with Verizon how my corporate discount will work with the new plans I'm still a happy customer. I'll end up paying less than I do now for 3 smartphones and 10g of data.

Seeing that verizon was planning to do away with the unlimited is what made go thru them instead of best buy or anyone else. Delicate situation. Yall should of went to the man himself Big red. I saw the problems you guys are having right now a mile away. Best buy is unpredictable. My phone left PA @5:30pm and now in NJ as of 2am this morning. Hoping to get it tomorrow. seeing these topic about people looking for orders is why i stayed away from best buy or costco. Now your phone and unlimited plan is being questioned.

I would be more concerned with when we will actually get the G3. BB has been told nothing on supply shipments as of today. The other carriers alerted their channels (including BB) and in some cases shipped the G3 early.

As of this morning, there is zero information on status. I am wondering that since VZW is not even offering the 32gb for a few weeks in stores, if they are taking their other channel allocations for themselves for the short term. The devices do not ship straight from the OEM, but through the same channels that the carriers control.

Best Buy is a channel partner to the carriers. Not their own entity.

I stopped by my local Best Buy in Raleigh, NC and they said they should be getting the Verizon Galaxy S3s by tomorrow and I should call later tonight to see if they got them in. I guess I'll find out later!
