Technically it is in back ordered because of the Evo was in Customs all weekend. They'll change their status once Sprint announces a launch date.

Im no one special but I preordered on day one and I expect to be able to pick up my phone this friday/sat/sun

released from customs monday/tuesday

shipped tue/wed

arrive on trucks at best buy on thursday-friday

get a call on friday/sat to come in pick up


edit: that would also put us 1/2 days after the sprint preorder shipments which is line with their promise to 'beat the street' date.

Just remember, just because that's the last thing the person you talked to heard, doesn't mean it's true. I know people at Best Buy, and they are still In the dark.

Yeah I just called my local BB here in Socal and she said she wasn't even sure if it was even getting released at all! I wouldn't put too much stock in what these workers say. :banghead:

I am in Louisville, just minutes away from where the phones are.... I just called the Best Buy where I ordered my phone from and they said the last notice they had said that the phone had cleared customs and that I should have my phone on the 24th... We'll see....

It's worth a shot to anyone who wants to try, but I would say there's no chance of that happening. Not even Sprint really cares about this delay or launch and I would say Best Buy's caring is absolutely zero. Most of them don't even know when or what the Evo is.

Ya to follow up, I know what all the reps at Sprint and Best Buy never take it at 100%, but I called coperate to get a credit ands he said it will be thursday. He said they just got a email half hr prior to my call saying thursday the 24th and also a BB mobile dude also checked and said Thursday. Take it for what it's worth ands I know another he said she said lol but just putting it out there

Thanks for that info man. I believe that day too, but why can't Sprint or even the insider tell us this? How does the insider not hear this information when even yesterday Best Buys were saying 5/24?
