Best screen protector?

I said it earlier and I will say it again. I love Boxwave. If you don't want the hassle of the water install of a screen protector, and you want something that is easy on off and does the job well get Boxwave. They have for the EVO both Cleartouch anti glare and Cleartouch crystal. They are available right now for ordering. No, I don't work for Boxwave, but have used their products for a long time and they just work and you don't know they are the device.

Here is the link for my personal favorite, Cleartouch crystal. You don't even know it is on the device.

EVO 4G Screen Protector / HTC EVO 4G Screen Protector / EVO 4G Invisible Screen Cover / HTC EVO 4G Screen Cover / EVO 4G Screen Film - ClearTouch Crystal

not sure whats the actual screen looks like but according to the picture it looks like it will cover the 4 buttons on the bottom. will that have any effect on the buttons? just wondering.

How long does it last on the phone before needing to be replaced? Like lifting corners and such?

Well, I usually replace it every six months. I have the Pre and I bought the 3 Pack and I am on number two after a year. It is easy to clean and looks like new after being on for months. It works great on touch screens.

I thought the buttons on the EVO are not real buttons. I thought they are flat. I have used the Cleartouch Crystal on the Palm Pre and it covers the hole screen, including the swipe area, and it works great with touch. As some people have told me, it seems more responsive with the screen protector on, which I agree. I have tried it with the screen protector on and off, and it does seem to work better with the screen protector on.

I think I'll just dip my Evo in Plasti-Dip when I take it out of the box. Maybe a few coats of shellac over that.

I've tried several and my personal favorite it Boxwave. It doesn't require any solution, it isn't tacky and it's easy to install. The best thing though is I've never had to replace one. I use Boxwave on all my devices. I combine it with a rubber case that won't scratch the phone.

those buttons on the evo are capacitive buttons. good to know it works nicely on the pre.

what screens have you tried other than the one from boxwave?

Since it's 50% discount by ZAGG, i might go with full body package this time for EVO 4G.

Both ZAGG and BSE have dimpling on their skins when applied. I didnt realize this until I started looking for a good skin for my Palm Pre last year. I ended up going with Phantom Skinz because it had the least orange peel effect (dimples), but had very faint and unnoticeable horizontal streaks if you held it in the right light. Here is the precentral.net thread that I used when deciding which one to get. Unfortunately, the great pictures that used to be up have been taken down.

You can see here that the Phantom Skinz comes out alot smoother.

And the Invisible Shield has dimples

That's hell good review there. Just read that thread in PreCentral, damn helpful. Im kinda thinking just getting phantom skinz for screen only now. Just one question, do you think screen only is enough, or should get full body protection (i will get case for body for sure).

I just ordered some Seidio Ultimate Screen Guards this morning. I opted against Best Buy's pre-installed Invisible Shields because I've read more negative than positive reviews on those.

I did see some youtube mention BB does not follow instruction, spray on the phone. I guess i might get Phantom skinz instead of ZAGG now. besides, already pre-ordered sedio case.

Got one questions for Phandom Skinz , "screen only" is good enough or should get full body package? and, is it really hard to install it? any tip for installation?

If the back of the EVO is anything like the soft touch backing on the Palm Pre, the "screen only" should be OK. I always have my Palm Pre in my pocket with keys, change, and everything else and I don't have a single scratch anywhere on it. However, I can see the corners, sides or back getting scratched up if you drop it on cement or something if they aren't covered. I've only dropped my Pre once, but it was on a hardwood floor and nothing happened to it. If you're using the Seidio case, than you can protect the screen with the Phantom Skinz and the body with the Seidio.

Here is Phantom Skinz install instructions. I've followed it pretty much exactly and have installed Best Skins Ever, Phantom Skinz, and Zagg on a few phones, mp3 players, and a laptop. I never used the spray that came with the Zagg skin. Just water and a drop or two of dish soap.

Most quality skins are not too difficult to install they just require a little patience to get it right the first time. I much like yourself pre-ordered the Seidio case as well so I'm just going for a screen guard since everything else should be covered. This set-up seems ideal to me and putting a full body package under your case just seems like overkill, but to each his own. My acquaintance happens to think that my set-up is overkill as it is. Ha.

I have the Phantom Skinz on my Pre and it is awesome! I just pre-ordered the screen only skin and I plan on getting a body case, just not sure which one yet.

On my iPhone I have a matte screen cover. No fingerprint issues, no sun issues. It just takes away some of the crispness of an image.

Thanks alot for you both. Really heck of experience to share in the videos. Seems full body protection is really good. and patience is essence for perfect installation there.

Try to see Sedio, and see the review here. I guess its nice to have one of them as the beginning

maybe it's some stupid question to ask, but I am still curious if it might be possible. Let's say i've already pre-ordered Sedio surface case for EVO4G, will be there some problem to put that case on after i stick Phantom Skinz full body protector on it?
