BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Well the manager at my local BB stood his grounds and stated no early store release. Even after I mentioned what corporate said. So I canceled the order and reordered online. Already charged on my cc. When I get home I'll check status.
Now you'll just half to wait longer
 
I have been stuck in preparing for 30 hours. Should I be concerned? I saw one person canceled, re ordered and it shipped? I’m Unlocked Black.

Such a personal decision. If you don't have something by tonight or tomorrow am, I might consider that if all other things are equal. Hard one.

It's a tough call. I was stuck since 9:00am yesterday. I got a notice only when loggin in via web that said there was a problem with my order. No email, no call nothing. Have you checked from a desktop?
 
For those that cancelled in store preorder, did you put a new order with your carrier online or with Best Buy online? I'm with Att, so I'm trying to weigh my options. TIA.
 
Mine is scheduled for Tuesday as well. I have never had a package from Best Buy take more than 2 days to reach me. But it looks like they are shipping from CA and I am in GA. They used UPS Ground. Based on that Tuesday sounds right. Really annoying as I am an Elite Plus member and I am supposed to receive 2 day shipping on my orders.

I placed it with my carrier. I however canceled a delivery order. Not sure about ATT but i placed my order around 10:30 EST last night with verizon and received my device a few hours ago.

They shipped mine UPS ground also, but from Ohio to SW Florida? What are they thinking? Also an Elite Plus member here...
 
I reordered via BB online. It will still get here before the release at the store.
 
I just called and spoke to a human being and got some bad news for anyone that pre-ordered for in-store pickup! The guy told me he is aware that BB is shopping online orders ONLY! in store pickup orders are being held until the official release date. Welp.. Sucks

I ordered on 8/24 AT&T black joint collecting dust in some cabinet 2 mins away... Gonna be a long week and a half!
 
Got my email and text this afternoon with the UPS tracking number, but those buttheads won't be delivering until Sept 12!!!

I'm still using a Note 4, people! A Note FOUR! Samsung pulled the Note 7 before i could switch, and I wasn't gonna be stuck with some crappy other phone while waiting for Samsung to give birth to the Note 8.

The Note 4 crashes (could not do normal boot, ddi:mmc_read failed) 8 times a day. Thank the Khaleesi that the Note 4 has a removable battery, or I would have a bricked out phone! At least it kinda lasted until the Note 8 release. Whew!!
 
Bolded the above part. Ridiculous that corporate is saying they can't tell the local stores what to do. Let us know what you hear from the local manager!


The story from corporate itself is a bunch of crap. Verizon let's you pick up in store. There were a bunch of people there picking up their Note 8's.

I wish they would just be honest. If they have some contractual obligation with Samsung to not release in store phones until the 15th, then they are getting screwed over by Samsung. Maybe it's Samsung's way of driving business to direct order from them.

Yeah i think this i on Samsung i know a lot of people are pissed but if samsung is enforcing instore sales to be limited to day of theres nothing a store will do to break a contract with samsung. Thats why its all people saying their orders are being delivered, but no one has said anything about buying in store yet. I think all companies/stores are being forced to keep instore sales until the day of.

I cancelled my order today in store. Walked out to my car and ordered on VZW app at about 1 PM. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow by 8 PM. Already have tracking #
 
I called to check on my order status as it's been at 'preparing' since yesterday. Turns out they had a communication issue with Verizon. I had to give them a few pieces of information and they said it should go through within the next day and if not, they would be contacting me again. So if you haven't moved forward, give them a call!!!

Be very careful dude. THats the same issue i had. Ask to speak to the Mobile Back House team. I talked to three different people until someone said i needed to speak to the mobile back office team. Once i did that they gave me two options. 1) Cancel and resubmit or 2) Cancel. I opted for cancel and ordered from Verizon directly and i already have my device. Not trying to scare but the back office team seems to know whats going on. He said simply there isn't a system in place yet that can fix the communications issues with verizon which is why they need to cancel and resubmit.
 
I hear ya. If I don't see progress by tomorrow I'll be contacting them Friday morning. I'm excited to get my phone, but OK if I end up waiting a bit longer.
