BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Unfortunately I am coming from an iPhone (booooo) so I don't think I have a SIM card. Do I need to go into a Verizon or Best Buy store to get it activated, if so, will they be able to help me since the phone isn't "out" yet?

you should be able to activate from the phone and the Verizon website too. and I believe it will come with the sim.
 
I just powered it on and followed the on screen instructions and had it activated on verizon in about a minute or two. Came with the sim card already installed. Just make sure your old phone is turned off when you are activating your new N8.
 
Sounds like a couple people canceled their Orchid Gray preorders and redid them online at best buy and they were shipped the same day. I thought my phone was hung up because of the color but apparently that is not the issue. Hmm..wonder why new orders are getting shipped within hours of being placed but orders placed 1-2 weeks ago are at a standstill. Frustrating.
 
Canceled my online preorder for Verizon orchids gray yesterday at 130. Reordered yest at 3pm. Just shipped woohoo!

I'm in the same boat. Was your original order at BB? If so, did you have to wait until the next day to reorder? At this point I'm feeling like my order is "stuck" somehow, especially since my black one arrived on Wednesday, just 4 days after I ordered them. Thinking about doing what you did.
 
Mine is out for delivery it's 9:00 pm here in Texas and it still isn't here ?????? Does ups deliver Saturday's or will I get my package today

I was at BB originally. I had to wait about an hour or so. Once I reordered, my return label for my trade and my contract docs showed up immediately and the it jumped to preparing. It was in that status all night and today it shipped about 545. It's 45 min from my house and I'm hoping it will update and deliver tomorrow but Monday at the latest. It felt like my original order was stuck. And the orchid is pretty, my s8+ is orchid but I put a case on it anyway.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not usually a follower but in this case, I think you might be on to something and I think I'm going to follow suit. Only wish I'd have done it yesterday when I was considering it!
 
Just wanted to add something that infuriates me... Even though my phone shipped, I found out when logging into my MyUPS account that the phone shipped from the store I did the in store preorder in. It just baffles me that they are shipping phones out but won't allow customers to come in store and redeem their preordered devices. Sorry if this angers anyone that is still awaiting shipment. Don't shoot the messenger!

I preordered online on the 28th Verizon orchid grey it's still in processing should I try cancelling and reorder? I tried calling and the rep was incredibly rude and refused to even pull up my order
 
As I stated before, I canceled my in store order on Weds. Went outside and ordered BB online (Black-Verizon) I received the phone yesterday morning via FedEx.

The easiest way to order the gifts is to download the Shop Samsung app to your phone and it will prompt you to take a picture of the receipt and it does the rest. Of course you pick the gift you like. If you don't have a paper receipt then you can upload it. Very simple process. Originally it stated that it will ship the week of 9/18/17 but I just received notification that it shipped today. I picked the camera.

I can't tell you that but the minute I switched from gray to black, I had movement. My rep said, before I cancelled, I didn't have a device attached to my acct. Meaning they had no stock in the distribution ctr I'm assigned to. So I can't be sure because some have had success with gray shipping but not in my case.

Thanks--all done--canceled and reordered. Now I wait to see if it helps expedite things or if I just bought myself a ticket to the end of the line. LOL. :) Will update when I get a shipping notification. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Somehow I just noticed that you switched from gray to black. Darn it. I was hoping you reordered gray and it shipped that fast. Owell, I'll consider it an experiment. It still said I'd receive it by the 15th, so best case scenario, I get it a few days earlier, worst case, I wait 6 more days. Or worst, worst case scenario, all of the Orchid Gray for verizon are on back order or something. Haha!
And now, I try to chill and remember that me being irritated that I might have to wait a little longer for my $1000 cell phone is truly a first world problem. 😂

Definitely keep us updated. I got excited when I also thought they cancelled gray and reordered gray. Since that wasn't the case I'm now curious what happens with yours. As long as I get mine by the 15th and get the preorder gift I won't be too upset though.
 
How in the world did you get Verizon to pay off your S7 Edge? Sure wouldn't do it for me and I have been with them for 15 years.

Emailed the higher-ups and told them the situation--a long-time customer was leaving for another carrier if it made more financial sense to do so. Executive Relations got back to me and said they'd buy out the $460 on my S7E and let me use it for the trade-in. Works for me, assuming it all goes smoothly.

Now I really want this thing. Could I cancel my order and do it online through Best Buy?
