BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Emailed the higher-ups and told them the situation--a long-time customer was leaving for another carrier if it made more financial sense to do so. Executive Relations got back to me and said they'd buy out the $460 on my S7E and let me use it for the trade-in. Works for me, assuming it all goes smoothly.

Now I really want this thing. Could I cancel my order and do it online through Best Buy?

I was fortunate enough for them to buy out my S7E as well, but they're not allowing me to use it for the trade in. They said I'd be charged the buy out cost if I didn't return my phone. I just recieved the return box from them yesterday.
 
Thanks--all done--canceled and reordered. Now I wait to see if it helps expedite things or if I just bought myself a ticket to the end of the line. LOL. :) Will update when I get a shipping notification. Thanks again for the inspiration.

I originally ordered grey Verizon on 8/29, after never moving off processing I cancelled this morning and reordered another grey about an hour ago. Now my order status looks exactly like yours
 
I have gave up on getting my Note 8 before Sept 15. I will remember to just order next phone thru Verizon.

BB has certainly proven with this phone that they are disorganized and clueless, which I knew before, just not how disorganized and clueless. and who sends out 1k pieces of equipment, phone or otherwise, via UPS ground, leaving it to roam around for a week or more?

I'm okay with the no siggy required thing, since I regularly get UPS shipments that way, but to use UPS GROUND and let it be thrown around for a week is beyond the pale. poor shipping practices. and I've seen posts here about only coming in an envelope with no protection and box crushed. unforgivable.

next time around I will do everything in my power, short of accepting a lease, to order from Sprint, or someone else that is not a big box retailer like BB. won't do Costco or Sam's either. learned so many things this time around and I will remember. :(
 
For those of us who are supposed to pick up in store, are we still expecting to have to wait until the 15th? That seems ridiculous if they are shipping them!

Mine went UPS Ground from the other side of the USA... finally made it to my city and then they stopped all deliveries Thursday due to Hurricane Irma

They said it could be another couple weeks until I receive because of all the resorting needed. Can't reorder next week in store or cancel either (account froze until phone at UPS is either activated or returned). such a crock of...

They did that with the s8 also. I didn't go thru BB for my note 8 because of how they handled the s8.

yours should have been the first post and then the rest of us would have cancelled our orders. hindsight sucks. my N7 gets taken back and my N8 is on a vacation around America. it's seeing more places than I have. :mad:
 
Unfortunately I am coming from an iPhone (booooo) so I don't think I have a SIM card. Do I need to go into a Verizon or Best Buy store to get it activated, if so, will they be able to help me since the phone isn't "out" yet?
Pho e comes with the SIM card already installed. Best Buy includes instructions on how activate the phone. Very easy process.

Lord, bless it. I just got off the phone with a Best Buy rep who tried to tell me that I hadn't received my phone yet and my order wasn't updating because they were not releasing any of the Note 8 phones for shipping until the 15th. I told her that was not accurate as I had already received one three days earlier. She told me that it must have been a glitch and I should not have received it yet. I told her that I knew many others who had already received their phones as well. She then said she needed to transfer me to someone else. That woman answered and I explained my situation and she said she needed to transfer my call to somebody else. Then I was promptly disconnected.
Edited to add: Prior to this call, another rep told me, the color I ordered was not in yet and that was causing the delay. Another told me that my phone needed to be released from Verizon, so I called Verizon. Verizon said everything was fine on their end. Seriously, their reps are all over the place and it is such a frustrating waste of time. I really want that $150 off but at this point, I am starting to feel like the time spent on this has exceeded $150 worth.

As I stated before, I canceled my in store order on Weds. Went outside and ordered BB online (Black-Verizon) I received the phone yesterday morning via FedEx.

The easiest way to order the gifts is to download the Shop Samsung app to your phone and it will prompt you to take a picture of the receipt and it does the rest. Of course you pick the gift you like. If you don't have a paper receipt then you can upload it. Very simple process. Originally it stated that it will ship the week of 9/18/17 but I just received notification that it shipped today. I picked the camera.
Yes, easiest way is to download the Samsung shop app. Took a picture of the Best Buy order page. My gift was approved in less than a hour. I chose the card and charger. They camera I a better value, but it would just sit in my drawer.

BB really excels with what they do. they do it badly really well!
 
I really wish people wouldn't waste there time with reps it's always a different story
