BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Edit: Man, Best buy really needs to get their crap together. I called the phone number and my item finally has tracking info. I checked and UPS has no info for the tracking number they provided. But now I am left wondering if they did ship me a phone or didn't.

That means a shipping label has been created, but your package hasn't been handed over to UPS yet.
 
The unlocked version is just carrier unlocked right? Not bootloader unlocked?

All Verizon phones are already carrier unlocked. Just FYI. You can run the Samsung unlocked version on Verizon, but you will no have the Verizon Advanced Calling Features. In the past one big advantage was no bloatware, but on my Verizon version I have been able to uninstall all of the bloatware.

I understand the frustration for those who have problems with their orders. The Note 8 was my first Preorder. I had always said I would never preorder. I have to give Kudos for my experience with Best Buy. My phone arrived about 10 days ago. Phone activated fine, had a problem with getting the preorder gift registered. I went to Best Buy and they solved the issue very quickly. Very happy with my Best Buy experience with the Note 8.

Thats what I figured, but now I have no idea if they printed a shipping label for a phone they don't plan to ship any time soon. Or if the website is wrong and maybe they are shipping it today. And I already know if I call, the person I talk to won't know a darn thing.

that's been the problem with the BB pre-orders all along. they are clueless so we have been clueless. talk about a botched pre-order process with them.
 
In store pickup successful! Took 28 minutes to process two phones. The only oddity is that I apparently still have to go to a Verizon store to return my S7E's - apparently return mailing labels were not being generated. No big deal.

And the reps will be more then helpful dealing with best buy customers while losing out on commissions for their customers. Lol
 
Ok here is my (Updated) Pre-order experience with Best Buy. I always have an outlook on things like this with low expectations. I went to Best Buy the first day you could do Pre-orders & got my confirmation paper. I talked with the sales rep. and he said see you 9/15 at 8am. I sat back and did nothing until some of you here were able to get yours yesterday. I called in to my local Best Buy to see what was going on. I was politely informed that if you received an email directly from Samsung you could stop in and get in if not please come in tomorrow morning @ 8am and we will be happy to help you get your new phone.

I was not sure what to expect so I showed up @ my local Best Buy by 7am. What I saw was utter amazement..... the parking lot was empty. I was the only one there. Around 7:30 employees started to show up. Around 7:45 3 others showed up for their Pre-orders. The doors were promptly opened @ 8 am. I was in @ 8 am and out by 8:30 am. BTW I scored a bag full of Samsung swag that included a pen, post-it notes, t-shirt (I am wearing it now) & water bottle. After my note 8 was activated they helped me transfer what I wanted off my old phone & the Samsung rep. showed my exactly what I needed to do to redeem my Pre-order promotion. That was easy as crap I had a confirmation before leaving that store that the promotion was excepted. The only thing I have left is to get my trade in on my old phone started thru Verizon.

So my over all experience was awesome.
 
Finally received the shipping notification. Ready for UPS pickup. Tracking number doesn’t show the arrival date but being shipped ground. So won’t be seeing it tomorrow. Disappointing.

Yeah, I'm seeing some people order it one day and have it delivered withing 24-48 hours vis Fedex. Mine is coming monday via UPS... if only I would have ordered it a day earlier. I wonder if it's a carrier thing?
 
I need to decide if I cancel my order for the gray which sounds like it won't be here for a while and pick up a black in store at best buy. Or try to snag a Gray with verizon and lose out on the $150 savings

Is having the gray worth $150? Maybe if you can get it at Verizon store today.
 
Ordered 9/7 @ 10 am (VZW Black), shipped by 5 pm, and out for delivery 9/8 @ 4 am. I'm impressed. Next up, the $480 trade in credit for my Note 5. Hope it works.

An update on the VZW trade in - The manager of the corporate store, at first, claimed that I could not "double dip" and get the promotional trade in credit, but we tried it anyway. And, sure enough, the promotional credit came up on his tablet and was confirmed today via email. He claimed I was the first one to attempt to claim the promotional credit in store after purchasing from BB. I am all set @ $12.75 per month.

I'm with Sprint and only paying one dollar more and didn't have to give up any device. very pleased with how things worked out overall, though BB could have pulled it together better for shipping... and for in-store releases. glad at least a few had a great experience in-store pre-ordering.
 
I received my Note 8 2 hours ago at BB had no issues at all. I was first in line all though this location didn't have a lot of pre-orders due Hurricane Harvey a small bright side.
