BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Is having the gray worth $150? Maybe if you can get it at Verizon store today.

Probably not, but I almost don't want to give best buy my money at this point. the problem is they took that option away from me. Just called to cancel, since I can get a black in store today, and they told me it is in fact packaged and waiting for UPS to pick up from a warehouse in CA, I am in OH by the way. I asked what priority level of shipping they are using, no surprise it's standard ground shipping. So maybe i will have my phone mid to late next week. And since it is already packaged i don't even have the option to cancel.

Yep hurry up and wait , my ground package is arriving today 1st time BB has done ground shipping with me.
Maby becouse of quantity to save money not sure also tracking didn't update for 3 days after it shipped
 
My order status finally updated :(

"This item has been delayed, but we are continuing to work on it. If we cannot complete your order by null, we will let you know and cancel the item. Get it by Sat, Oct 14."

The word null is another kick in the face, cause now they haven't even given me an exact date when they will let me cancel. So now I gotta either wait an indefinite amount of time, probably a month by the looks of it. Or cancel and either try for a black, or try to go through best buy in store or verizon.

I am happy for all those that received theirs. But I am a little annoyed to have seen people order after me and still get theirs. I'm sure it has something to do with "local" warehouse stock. But we've also seen them ship these things across country so I just don't get it. I know this is Best buy and not samsung specifically. But it also hurts that they aren't making sure note 7 owners aren't being taken care of first either. I'm guessing I'll find a way to get my phone before the middle of october, but if I don't samsung may lose my business cause nearly every other phone will be out by then.


Edit: Man, Best buy really needs to get their crap together. I called the phone number and my item finally has tracking info. I checked and UPS has no info for the tracking number they provided. But now I am left wondering if they did ship me a phone or didn't.

I was just about to respond and say man that stinks, but was glad to see your edit at the bottom that you finally have tracking information. Here's to hoping it shows up in the next couple of days. You are right, it's really unfair that you ordered so early on and still don't have your phone. I'm sorry. I would be so peeved.

Get the one today and refuse delivery on the best buy one when it arrives.
 
Just got my phone a few hours ago at best buy loving it. It was a painless process.
 
Well, I'm kinda pissed off. I downloaded the Buy Samsung app to claim my extras, which originally were advertised to be a 256GB SD card and wireless charger. But when I signed into the Buy Samsung app, the offer had been changed to a 128GB card and wireless charger. Not happy.

there have been reports of receiving a 256GB card.
 
Just got off the phone with my local Best Buy. They are not releasing today because it was "only in certain circumstances". I pushed him and he admitted it was because of the email that people received but they are not following and are not releasing until tomorrow. They are also not opening early at all and didn't confirm if they even had my note. What BS this whole thing has been. Maybe I need to just go up there and make a scene, because I have had enough.

I will get the Android Central bail fund ready.... :P
 
So BB did credit my 10% instore only coupon for a discount on my online purchase , they had to check with the manager but it worked
 
I am happy to have gotten my Note 8 this morning at 8am. They would not give me my phone without activating it. I was going to switch sim card from my S7 edge. He told me he had never heard of doing that. I talked to Verizon last night and told me that would be fine. They did say I would get a $25 gifts card in the mail for buying from them. Smart switch worked pretty good recovering from my backup on my sdcard and backup from Nova. A few settings weren't tranfered but otherwise I am happy. Saving me a lot of trouble. My old dark material theme wouldn't work but found a new one that's ok. Love everything so far. Coloring book was there for my great grandkids so happy there. Glad this is all over.

I'm pretty sure thats not an option. Since I already placed the order fo the first one I think they "locks" my upgrade, so I'm not sure I could get another phone without adding a new line or something.

I just called and spoke with them again and confirmed it has not shipped yet. I told them the least they could do is upgrade from ground shipping to next day error. They said that since its already staged for pickup they can't change the shipping. While they may or may not be true it seems like a lot of BS to me. I can't image UPS would turn down more money from best buy to ship an item faster.
 
I just got an email Subject: "Your Item is Delayed"
"We're sorry - your ordered item(s) are taking longer to fulfill than we anticipated.

Please be assured we'll continue to work on this order, and once the item(s) become available we will let you know. If we are not able to complete your order by September 29, 2017, we will notify you and cancel the item(s). "

The 29th????

I am really not happy.

I am thinking of calling but I am not sure what to even ask or say.

According to my store they "didn't get all of their Verizon inventory" and will let me know when the next shipment comes in and of course they have no idea when that will be.

I ordered on 9/7 with a get it by 9/15. Shipped on Wednesday, five day UPS ground. Won't be here until 9/19. Called several times and got lies and guesses. Wrote a complaint to the BBB about missing "get by date". I would have been happier without the guesses and just admit they messed up. I expected that they would have expedited the shipping since they only had two days to get it to me . I would have even paid extra. Oh well...

I did a preorder at best buy on 9/12 to pick up at the store. It said i'd get my device by 9/29. I've never done a preorder before, but wanted to get the extras. I'm hoping next week.

Verizon, orchid gray.

I got an email at about 6pm saying my order was ready to pick up! Man, I was thinking a week or more.

It was too late for me to get to the store tonight though.
